Introduce yourself in the letter?

Unread post by namakemono »

(I'm new here today so if this is in the wrong place/has been covered elsewhere I'm sorry :roll: )

Is it better to introduce yourself in your letter (not a lengthy autobiography obviously) or just better to get straight on with flattering them? 8)

Thanks in advance for any help

I would introduce myself a little bit.
Don't just jump straight in on flattering them; that would seem really "fake" and insincere about being their fan.

Hello namakemono! ;-)

I agree with the above posts, indroduce yourself first so the celebrity knows who you are! {thumb2} You can just write a brief introduction about yourself, like what's your name (obviously! :lol: ), your age, where you live, etc. {up}

Good luck, namakemono! :mrgreen:

Lizanne

Sometimes I flatter them first and talk about what I liked them in and then after that I go into introducing myself or vice versa.

Should we tell them that we're autograph collector or just a fan? If we say we're autograph collector, then they might think that we're ebay seller.

Go for fan- they're more likely to personalise it if they know you don't just want their scribble for the sake of it.

I always introduce myself, name, where I'm from, age. things like that.

I always admire them in the second paragraph - I let the first be for my introduction.

I would always say fan, never collector.
