Planning a trip to Hollyood for a Premiere
I started this for my own sake, however, if it gets enough feedback/response, I hope it can turn into a sticky. I am planning to fly to LA next week for a movie premiere, and I wanted to get any and every piece of advice for this, from the flying/airport, transportation, lodging, eating, things to avoid, rules at the premiere, etc. Hopefully, we can each add to this thread with a new experiences and help create good experiences for members who go to Hollywood. Thanks in advance for anyone who helps!

Re: Planning a trip to Hollyood for a Premiere
Here are the details I have so far on my trip:
Kate Beckinsale is my dream woman and favorite actress, and it would be a true life memory to see her in person. If I could take a picture with her and say a word or two, it would be amazing beyond words. So, I'm going to the Snow Angels premiere at the Egyptian Theater. I'm going purchase my ticket ahead of time, fly into LAX Wednesday. Take the buses to save money to get to the Hollywood area with the theaters (I read there's a $5 all day pass). Stay at a hotel there, thinking Motel 6 so far to save on money. Show up at an appropriate time on Thursday to get a good spot in line to see Kate as she makes her entrance/take pictures/get auto, and then go inside for the screening. Stay around afterwards in hopes of catching her again, enjoy anything else going on that night and sleep. Depending on my flight times, I might look around town Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. I will be flying back on Friday.
As stated above, any ideas/opinions/advice on this plan would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi! Aww..you're so lucky! I don't know much about Hollywood because I stayed in Monterey Park, a city in LA but I did go to Hollywood last year. It's really nice there! I was expecting to meet at least 1 celebrity but didn't, due to my short stay. I hope you do meet Kate Beckinsale! You should go here - http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-4 ... Xrcxj8xmoA and read what other people did so it gives you an idea. Enjoy your trip!

Mmkay
My aunt, 2 cousins went to a premiere so I asked her about it
She says a few things are
1. Don't yell at the celebs- "Kate! Kate! Kate! OOOOVVVEEEERR HEEEERRRRREEE!"
2. Dress nicely- depending on the movie dress nicely (a good pair of jeans and a jacket may be good)
3. Don't be pushy- some actors/crew may be short-tempered so be polite and courteous!
Thank my aunt Amy Georgian!

Re: Planning a trip to Hollyood for a Premiere
I kinda have to diagree with your Aunt, iheartcelebs...I mean there's no way there aren't going to be people screaming for the celebrities, it happens at all premieres and red carpet events!!! Really the only way to get them to come over is if you get their attention and that usually happens by screaming and such.
In your case, ne0ven0m I would suggest you find a way to get her attention, as it's not a set thing that she will walk over to the fans or get to everyone. Maybe make a sign for her and mention you took a trip to L.A. just to meet her? I've not been to premieres in L.A., but I have in Toronto during the film festival...I know the ones in L.A. are MUCH bigger though. Definitely try to get their early to get a spot in the front, possibly early afternoon/late morning would be good. I'm not sure what the possibility of you actually getting a ticket to see the film is, as most of those L.A. premiere screenings are private events and are only available through charity events and things like that.
Best of luck!! {thumb2}

Re: Planning a trip to Hollyood for a Premiere
Thanks for the advice so far. Yeah, I was considering making a small sign to get her attention, but aside from that, I'm going to have to yell over the regular parparazzi. And since this is my main reason, I'm going to be there at least 3-4 hours before things start. As for a ticket, I've already bought it {thumb2} I was surprised the general public could buy it, but certainly thankful for it. Thanks to that, it's guaranteed that I'll at least see her, other cast members, and the director introduce the screening. Now I'm just concerned about seeing her up close as she walks on the red carpet. I've got my fingers crossed.

Hi ne0ven0m!
Wow, you're very lucky to go to a premiere and see (and hopefully meet!) Kate Beckinsale!
{thumb2} I agree with Larisie, she's been to the Toronto Film Festival so she knows best what it's like!
A banner for Kate would definitly catch her attention, I'm sure...
Also get some nice 8x10 photos printed so she can sign some great pics too for you.
Good luck, ne0ven0m!
Enjoy,
Lizanne
