My dad met Tiger Woods at a restaurant when Tiger was 18, visiting our area.(Before he became a legend). My dad STILL recalls that he was a lovely guy

interesting thread

former Michigan Governor Jim Blanchard: nice, but you can tell he likes power and clout

Fergie, the Duchess of York: nice, signed an autograph (not for me or anyone I knew though), headed for the hills as a crowd starting swarming, definitely understandable.

Ernie Harwell: nice guy, is every bit the folksy manner he displayed on the announce position for the Detroit Tigers.

Nate Snell: signed an autograph at an autograph session. (no longer in my possession): you could tell he did not want to be there.

Sparky Anderson (3rd winningest baseball manager). rude, basically told my sister to get lost.

Lance Parrish: super nice, went to extrodinary lengths to get my sister her autograph.

Lou Whittaker: breezed right past us.

Pat Benatar: never actually met her, but she was supposed to stay at the hotel I worked at the time. Even though it was one of the best hotels in the state, she and/or her staff were so disgusted with it, they were willing to cross states lines (over an hour away) at 2 a.m. in the morning to prevent from staying at the hotel. Struck me as kind of arrogant, especially since it's been 23 years since she's had a top 10 hit.

Mark Lambrecht (2 time winner on Press Your Luck, he beat Michelle "Mistress of the Pass" Erickson, winner on Weakest Link Anne Robinson edition): communicated with him via e-mail, extremely nice guy, talkative: I sent him a copy of one of his episodes.

Fabian (huge pop/rock star from the late 50's): mother says he was very nice and talkative.

Davy Rothbart: came out with the 'Found' series of books and magazines. Nice guy, albeit really profane. Stayed for a long time signing autographs, and very talkative.

I met Charlie Sanders a couple of weeks ago at a store opening and while he took the time to sign for everybody he seemed real rude and ignored you whenever you asked him a question.

Orlando Bloom is really friendly and down to earth.
He got chased by security, because he went where he wasn't suppose to, to get to hes fans.
{??} {love} That was the best day of my life!!

the nicest celeb that i've ever met, is hands down, Paula Abdul. she was in columbus, OH, for a speaking engagement in 2004, and had a q&a session/meet and greet as well. she was so nice to me and my friends, and everyone else in the audience. everyone who asked questions got really lengthy, nice answers from her, and she was just so friendly! i was lucky enough to get to ask her the first question, and i told her how all of my friends were huge fans, and she told us that she would come and talk with us afterwards. when the q&a session was over, and it was time for the meet & greet, paula left the stage area where she was signing and came over to us and took us into a private back room, where she talked with us for almost a half hour, even though she had many people to sign for back by the stage area. she took a ton of pictures with us, and signed everything we had with us. the people in charge of the whole thing told her it was time for her to go and sign for everyone waiting, and before she left, she said, "oh, i have to hug you guys first!!" hugging her made my day! she has such a huge heart, and it so kind and generous! i was on cloud nine forever after that day. I was lucky enough to get a video of us with her, and cherish it to this day. she is such an awesome person, and is very very beautiful in person, might i add! i put a clip of it on youtube, even though it's REALLY bad quality, because i filmed from the tv...

i also was fortunate enough to meet one of my favorite bands, the dresden dolls, last year after their set at a concert. both amanda and brian were extremely friendly and nice, and we talked for a few minutes! i got a great picture with them as well!!

Hi,

I am going to make quite a long post so it is up to you on whether you read it or not.

When at premieres, I don't count celebrities as being 'rude' or 'nice', if they sign it is primarily becuase the world's press is watching. However here is a run down on everyone I have met at premieres..

:arrow: Johnny Depp- signed.
:arrow: Helena Bonham Carter- didn't sign.
:arrow: Alan Rickman- signed but refused HP items.
:arrow: Timothy Spall- signed.
:arrow: Tim Burton- didn't sign.
:arrow: James McAvoy- didn't sign.
:arrow: Kiera Knigtley- signed.
:arrow: Vanessa Redgrave- signed.

My general experience of celebrities is that they are forthcoming and are willing to sign. However if they refuse on a time basis then I say that's fine as it's a genuine reason. Also if there is a large crowd I except it then.

Particularly nice people have included David Tennant, Gordon Ramsay, Beyonce (considering location), and Scouting For Girls. However of the 400 or so people I have met, I would say 380 have been happy to sign.

Ones that have refused me with no proper arguement as to why include Ralph Fiennes, Katie Price & Peter Andre, and Lisa Stansfield.

I could go on with everyone I've met but I would be here for a long time!

I've only met Orlando Bloom and I have to say he is really nice. There where so many people around him and he was really slowly so that everybody could make pictures and he signed nearly everything they wanted him to. He also started talking to us....I think at such times he is really friendly but for that reason we should leave him alone when he is on vacation or stuff with his family or girlfriend.

I love Ken Dodd! Unfortunately every time I've seen him live, I've had to leave before the end of the show to catch my train. Next time I go to one of his shows, I'm going to take someone who can drive, so I can wait at the stage door {thumb2}

I met the nicest celebrity in the world yesterday. Sheridan Smith from Two Pints Of Lager (and a packet of crisps) I was at the badwolf convention and she was signing during the afternoon. She was awesome to everyone. Her queue was longer than anyone else's but she took the time to chat to everyone and even stayed an extra hour because people were still waiting to meet her. A true star {love}
