Why are multiple accounts allowed?
Over the last few days/weeks its been posted a few times that "multiple accounts are not against the rules", but Ive never seen any reason as to WHY? I cant think of a single positive thing that can come of it, so what is the reason? Does anyone know?
Re: Why are multiple accounts allowed?
the only reason I can think of is to boost member count.....

Hi!
Firstly, I can't see why anyone wants to have multiple accounts?
Where would you get the time to use both to make posts??
Anyways, I think mabey it's too much work to handle multiple accounts here on Fanmail.biz too, although I think it's frustrating because this allows the user to post a success twice, continue to scam people, too many TM's because one user uses both accounts to become a TM, etc...
The Moderators and admin already have their hands full with banning people who just return under a new name. And as jdp3577 said, it boosts the member count.

Still no official answer then
You see, there is a big problem, and I can use a current example to prove why multiple accounts should not be allowed.
I wont name names unless asked to, but a few weeks ago, a member made a thread asking about if doing something was ok, despite the fact it was illegal and fraudulant.
A similar thread appeared in the last few days, and on the member's 2nd account, they replied saying how bad it was that people do it.
Surely admin you can see the problem here? If you have one person with 2 accounts, giving completely different advice on both of them, theres going to be problems?

Andy, I saw the thread you were referring to and I agree, multiple accounts are nothing but trouble.

Re: Why are multiple accounts allowed?
Another example with the same multi-account member I mentioned above, one one account he/she claims he/she NEVER pays for return postage, and on the other account, claims you always should pay for return postage as its rude not to.
Why is this allowed to continue, and why have I still had no official reason as to why multiple accounts are allowed? This thread is 5 days old now

I think it's really weird how they always go against each other, maybe they have split personalities? Why does this have to continue? Multiple accounts are a mess!!!Andy316 wrote:Another example with the same multi-account member I mentioned above, one one account he/she claims he/she NEVER pays for return postage, and on the other account, claims you always should pay for return postage as its rude not to.

Re: Why are multiple accounts allowed?
Its probably just because he/she is trying to differentiate the accounts, so (hopefully for him/her) no one suspects anything....charmainey wrote:I think it's really weird how they always go against each other, maybe they have split personalities? I knew it was only a matter of time before that member used her second account to show an interest in moderating
