Re: that game was the biggest upset in sports history
i think a far superior upset was good ole wales beating england in the six nations
rugby, american football...its nearly related. only difference is the ruby was on at a more civilised hour
for someone who knows naff-all about such things, why was it such an upset then? in the words of craig david - "can you fill me in?" or something to that effect.

Re: that game was the biggest upset in sports history
It was not the "biggest upset in sports history", far from it.
It was a close game in the regular season between the 2 of them, it was no big shock that the Giants pulled it off this time. Was always going to be close, never was going to be a landslide easy win.
"Biggest upset" is a joke, sorry!

It was a great game, and a lot was riding on it. However many people though the Giants could pull it off. If you studied the Patriots throughout the season and the teams they played many wheren't great and the ones that were, well they were close games. Yes it's a big upset, and it will be remembered that way, but not the biggest. I'd say it'll go down in the history books, because of what the Pats couldn't do not what the Giants did.

Re: that game was the biggest upset in sports history
Even though both teams played in week 16 and it was a 3 point game. I agree it was a big upset. Why the Giants though were a 14 point underdog still boggles my mind. I picked the Giants to win outright and actually kept saying they would win by 2. As far as the biggest upset in Sports history, Not even close. I would rank it the second biggest upset in Super Bowl history next to Super Bowl 3. I would say though it's the best Super Bowl I've ever seen and I've been around to watch 40 of them. As far as biggest upsets in U.S. sports history, here are a few that comes to mind in no particular order.
1969 Mets winning the World Series
Super Bowl 3 Jets beating the Colts
1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team beating the Russians on the way to the gold.
Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson

I wasn't that suprised!
the giants just beat the best two teams in the NFC(packers and cowboys)
and Tom Brady just cam off of one of his worst games with 3 picks!
eli was on fire and Tom wasn't! That was the difference

I knew the Giants would win. I mean really, the patriots were way to cocky and i knew that sometime that would have an effect. Sadly, for them it just happened to be the Super Bowl.
Biggest upset? Not really. But best play in super bowl history, maybe even in the entire game of football? Yeah this game had it:

if eli hadnt broken those tackles and lobbed it to tyree we had been saying the pats are the greatest team in history. yeah they had some close games. yeah but they had just as many blowouts. the pats just picked a really bad time to go ice cold. losing once in 19 games is still a giant feat.
Go yankees! Beat Those Red Sox.

Go Pack GO!

wierd combo huh.
