Autographs For Sale / Exchange forum

Unread post by admin »

Hi everyone :)

I have received a PM from afem1010. He would like us to add new rules in the Autographs For Sale / Exchange forum.

Here is his thread: viewtopic.php?f=127&t=88825

Everything afem1010 posted in that thread is very reasonable. {thumb2} I do believe that stricter rules need to be put in place in that particular section of the forum, and it is his right as a moderator to make and enforce rules. It might have been better to discuss it with the other moderators first though...

It is a well-written post. It sums up the rules nicely.
Joel is right; we should let him know about that. But, I do think that taking the initiative there was a good idea :)

It sounds alright :)

However I dont entirely agree with this rule

DO NOT make more than one topic per 24 hrs. If done so, topics will be deleted without hesitation

I mean why not? I can imagine if I want to sell a few autographs I would prefer to make seperat topics for each autograph and also during one day. That way I could keep track of what users are interested in what item.

Definitely the limitation is a little harsh, and there probably shouldn't be. However, members should be more aware of the amount of topics they're posting! I mean, like the other day a member had taken over the entire first page of the "Autographs for Sale/Exchange" forum. I think that's a little ridiculous. There are TONS of other member's who are able to keep all their autographs that they have for sale/exchange in one thread. Possibly that's more of what afem meant in the long run?
Possibly the rule should be changed to something like: Please be conscience of the amount of separate threads you make for your sale/exchange items. If possible, please keep all your items in one thread. If the mods feel that you have too many separate topics for your sale items then we will merge them into one post.

Something along those lines. What do you think? Of course, it's just my opinion. :)

I would also have to agree with that. I think that if people have something to sell, and have the ability to do so without flooding or being rule, AND can follow the guidelines, i see no reason as to why there should be a 1 per 24 rule.

I think i also have to agree that it would have been better if these rules were shown to all moderators on the forum, considering we are all part of a team. But i do think he was just being helpful.

Hopefully these rules will help us out.

I think one is a little harsh but I think there should be a set number that should be allowed.

I agree with everything that has been said. All of the rules sound very reasonable. I do agree with you all in that the 24 hour rule seems a bit harsh, and I can see that it's totally justifiable for members to make more than 1 topic in any given 24 hour time frame.

I think the forum needs to be shut down. More and more scammers each day. I thought the point of "trusted autograph buyers and sellers" was to eliminate this.
