Making Your Letter Stand Out?

Unread post by Righteousmike »

Has anybody had any good success(ex.personalization/letters) from celebs that you wrote to and took the extra step to design the envelope on the computer and print directly on the envelope? I just made a custom envelope to send to Selena Gomez,I heard she's a good signer and figured I'd take the extra step as a thanks and maybe get mine noticed quicker.

I print my return address labels on the printer and usually include a little clipart image that relates to the person (a movie reel, race car, purple heart for CMOH, etc.) I dont think it makes a huge difference but I think it adds a little extra touch.
"A picture of love beneath the southern sky
Oh my what a beautiful life
Just like a Dixie lullaby"

Hey Righteousmike! ;-)

By making your envelope interesting, you would make it get noticed by the agent. I rather spend time making my letter to the celebrity interesting. {thumb2} I usually write (not type!) on very nice paper (with colours and flowers, ect.) and I keep it short to one page only. I write one paragraph about the celebrity and my favourite projects of them, and the next paragraph some brief, interesting info about myself (so they can get to know me!). :razz: Now, I have a very nice letter but I like to decorate it afterwards. You can stick little stickers (not too many, only like 3) at the bottom of the letter or anything like that! :D Anything really that would get noticed by the celebrity (and agent) and would make them realise that you're really a huge fan. {up} You can also send little presents, like bookmarks. Celebrities appreciate things like that very much!

Good luck, Righteousmike! :)

Yeah I always hand write mine, that's the first step. {thumb2} Then somwtimes I will put stickers on the envelope, letter etc. When I sent my second Alyson Stoner request, I wrote my letter on a cool lime green peice of cardstock. {love}

Like many, I hand-write my letters, as it already goes a long way in making the letter more personal. {up}

I then try to personalize the letter according to the personality of the celebrity. For example, recently I wrote to one of my favourite reggae musicians. I bought some thin fabric that had the rasta coulours (and marijuana leaves :lol: :mrgreen: ) printed on it, and after cutting it out neatly, used to it to frame the border of the letter. It's nice little touches like those that show how big a fan you are. Not only did he send me an autographed picture, but also wrote me a nice letter back too! {up}
AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

I always try to add a little something. Not because I want an extra something back, but because I'm a huge fan and appreciate their work.

I sent Chelsea Staub a bracelet and a mini-notebook I made and she sent me back a really pretty and sincere card to thank me!

I also always use bright neon colored envelopes, you can find these at Wal-Mart.

I completely agree with you, iheartcelebs! {thumb2} Don't just send something to get a "nicer" response - it will look so forced! It should come from your heart, if you feel your letter is awesome enough, then there's no need to send little presents. {up} So far I've only sent Charlie Cox a bracelet and he thanked me very nicely, but I sent it to him because I'm a big fan - not to get some nice response!
