Honestly, I could go on and on. I was rasied on clasic musicals and black and white(and early color) movies and I still love them...Even though I have them all totally memorized I still love watching them. I love the whole look of and feel of them, but unfortunatly for me, all of the actor have passed away.

Re: IF you could meet a past away celeb, who would it be?
1. Gloria Swanson - Actress, star of one of the greatest movies of all time: Sunset Boulevard as faded silent film star Norma Demond, and was also in silent movies and a few "talkies." She was the second female actress to ever make $1 million, behind Mary Pickford. Long before Andrew Lloyd WEbber had musicalized the famous movie she starred in, she herself wrote up her own version (with many changes) in hopes of a Broadway run, backed by the majority of her own money, but ultimately flopped and never made it past a few TV performances (which can still be seen on Youtube). Recently, they released her version of the musical - BOULEVARD! on CD. Died of natural causes, in 1983 at the age of 84.
2. Camille Claudel - Maybe not really a celebrity, but a brillant sculptress and one of the first females to be one in France/world. Camille studied and was the mistress of another famous French sculptor, Augustine Rodin, but their relationship ended extremely ugly at the end of the 1800s, where Camille would only see Rodin a few more times in her life. Camille's brother Paul Claudel (famous French Poet & Diplomat) and her father supported her and Paul attempted to lead her into the path of God, after he himself had a major conversion and life change. In 1913, Camille's father died and at the suggestion of her brother Paul, with some influence from Rodin, her family put her into an insane asylum. After several months, Paul attempted to get Camille out after the doctor's said she was cleared, but her mother and sister refused. Camille was moved frequently due to various wars in France, and was visited by relatives from time to time and Paul every several years; He always refered to her in past tense however. In 1943, Camille passed away, never once being visited by either her mother or sister in over 30 years. Camille died at the age of 79. Her legacy has been followed through films, and an unfortunate failed attempt at a musical starring Linda Eder.
3. William Holden - Legendary film actor, he ranked as #25 on AFI's Top 100 Stars list. His first major starring role was in the film "Golden Boy" in 1939, before he was enlisted in the army for WWII. When he returned, his film career was reborn when he co-starred as Joe Gillis, a failing screenwriter, in the film Sunset Boulevard opposite Gloria Swanson. He continued to see major successes of the film industry in the 1950s, but it slowed down in the 1960s and 1970s. Little known fact, he was the Best Man (& good friend) of future president Ronald Reagan, when he wed to Nancy [Reagan]. Unfortunately, Holden struggled from alcohalism, and in 1981, after being heavily intoxicated apparently slipped on a throw rug out a window to his all-too early death at 63.
I'm sure there's more but those are probably my top 3. Defanelty would have loved to have gotten Swanson's auto..if I was alive then!!?!!
