Signed match ticket

Unread post by jasonw »

Hi,
As some of you might know i recently got a match ticket signed IP. However i decided to cut of the zig zag lines on the two ends of the ticket so it looks better. Recently i heard that it makes the signed ticket not worth that much, is that true?
Obviously I am not intending to sell it; but as a collector I would like my autographs to be as 'worthy' as possible.
thanks
jason.

I believe it does reduce the value somewhat [rather minimally], as I've heard the same thing about concert tickets. I guess its because it makes it more 'incomplete'.

I really don't think it will 'de-value' it...if that's a word (It should be :) )

It is what it is, and the fact is, it's a used ticket from a match with autographs. The jagged edges always bother me, too, so I don't blame you.

I would have thought it would reduce the value...

I'd also say it would lower the value, as its incomplete. In the same way that a signed programme would be worth more than a signed programme page.

It's not about what does and doesn't bother you. The fact is, from a collector's/monetary perspective, the less of the original ticket that is preserved, the lesser the value.
