LOTS OF IN PERSON AUTOGRAPHS - SCANS ADDED

Yesterday I went to London again to get some autographs.

I started at Radio 2's Western house in Great Portland Street where Jonathan Ross broadcasts his Saturday Rado show from. I arrived at about 11.30 and was dissapointed to hear that Jonathan Ross's guest David Tennant had already left and not many people were expecting him to be his first guest. His show ends at 1pm and got Jonathan's autograph shortly after 1pm when he left the building. He was in a rush but happily signed.

Thanks to James for the directions and advice.

I then headed to the Gielgud. I got Tamsin Greig, Ken Stott and Janet McTeer to signa flyer for the show. AS usual Ralph Fiennes did not sign. He got out of the taxi and when approached he quietly mumbled 'no thanks' while nodding his head and went in the theatre. To myself and a few other collectors amusement the cab driver said 'Grumpy ****' One of the other collectors said he has tried 17 times to get him there without success, this is my 4th. Im not going out of my way to try him again; I dont even think he is a good actor but he is a very rare signer. Why - I dont know why but he is a misserable man and he needs to rememebr who got him to where he is today.

I then headed over to Noel Coward's theatre to get Felicity Kendal again.

I then went to The Trafalgar Studios where Kris Marshall signed 3 photos for me and personalsied one and Joanna Page signed my 10X8 from 'Gavin and Stacey'.

I also got Phill Jupitus who is also in a smaller play thier. He signed a flyer and my autograph book.

A great day and got most of waht I came for which was Jonathan Ross adn Kris Marshall. Shame about David Tennant but will try to send my own photo to him TTM now.

Have sent the Joanna Page signed 'Gavin and Stacey' photo off to Rob Brydon. Will ppst scan of it when I hopefully get it back.

Nice successes especially the Jon Ross and the Felicity Kendal ones, however I have to wonder why you had to criticise Ralph's acting abilities, just because you didn't get an autograph. If he had signed, I doubt you would have criticised his acting. Your comment about him needing to remember who got him to where he is today surely can't be made by you as you don't like his acting so why would he need to sign for someone who doesn't like his acting - if he doesn't sign for true dedicated fans then that's a fair enough comment - but you are not.

That's just my observation. Sorry to put a damper on your post.

But great successes anyway! Hope you get David Tennant's soon! {thumb2}

I am not a fan because I personally don't think he is a good actor but although i mostly collect people I admire I aslo collect rare stars for that reason - thay are hard to get.

You are quite wrong in thinking if he signed for me that I would suddenly like him as an actor. For one he has let me and many others done on several occasions not just once and if he did sign it wouldnt make me like his work.

The whole point is he doesnt know who his dedicated fans are so for all he knew I could have easily been one of them (wou spend loads of money on his DVD's, merchandise etc that ultimately pays his wages.) Its just a good thing im not a fan otherwise I would feel so down right now.

He rarely signs for anyone -even hard core fans so my comments are true and just.

It's up to Ralph whether he signs or not - and he may be a rare signer but so are many people - but it doesn't mean that they're miserable people.

Maybe it's the location or he's had bad experiences with people outside demanding autographs (I'm not saying you). I don't know. But he seems to sign for a lot of other people elsewhere as you said. You said you've already got his autograph anyway, so why are you letting his abruptness get to you?

I don't have is autograph - I dont remember saying so.

All I can say is those pics show a completely different person to I have seen. All I can say is a cab driver (completely impartial and nothing to do with autographs thought he was miserable) said he thought he was miserable. Im not saying he saw miserable because he didnt sign, just that he was miserable on this occasion and each odf the other times I have seen him.

My addition to the conversation on Mr Fiennes.

Previously he has been lovely, and I hadn't heard a bad report on him before this play. But every time I've been he's refused, in a horrible way one of the times.. I respect his wish not to sign, I just don't aggree when he shouts at me quite rudely.

Theres a few vids of him on youtube signing loads, maybe he just has those days where sometimes hes in a good modd and others hes in a horrible mood, im not sure whether to risk goin or not, i have some voldemort photos,

question to mymymy:
how many sigs do u think joanna page would have signed, i have 7 gavin and stacey 10x8's which i plan on getting signed tomorrow

No.1 Grapher: Sorry if this is too late but Joanna is an excellent signer and very modest. I wouldnt be suprised if she would sign all of them. Good luck and let me know how you get on.
