Autographs For Sale/ Trade forum - Feedback

Unread post by jasonw »

Hi,
The Autograph for sale/ trade section is more organized now as we have mods and AE's helping out and we now have a set of rules. However, I still think that the forum can be improved - perhaps with a feedback or rep- point system for buyers and sellers?

What's your thoughts?
Jason.

i think that a rep-points system would be great for sellers to have as it would show the buyers who is trustworthy and is not going to rip you off.

I think it's a very good idea. Problem is, admin doesn't seem to acknowledge that any of the topics in 'Forum Ideas' actually exist. So this is just another idea that'll go down the drain :?

I could start a feedback thread in that forum. If people post in it saying someone was good (with reasons), I'll +1 them on the first post in the thread (which is where the list will be). If someone posts on that thread saying they're bad (again, with reasons) I'll -1 them on the list.

So basically the list will end up looking something like this -

Mike +4
Paul +2
Lisa +2
Harry +0
David -4

etc etc.

Thats the only way I can see this idea working, what do you think?

Hi,
That's a great idea Andy, but I think we should get a few more responds first to see if any one can come up with something better.

Thanks for the support Shambler, I think admin does browze through the "Forum ideas" he passed the "Is it authenitic" forum idea raised in this forum.
Hopefully admin can do something about this issue too {up}

I just dont see any other way of doing it. A "rep system" (like we used to have) would be worthless, as it couldnt be done specifically to that forum, and theres no way to stop it being abused.

A constantly updated thread scoring system looks the "safest" way to do it to me, but we'll see what else people suggest.

I understand what you mean. But with our current idea, the problem is that it is not easy to keep track of ALL the deals that happens, especially when some people trade through PM's..

Its impossible to keep track of all deals anyway, but at least with the way I proposed, all feedback is in the open, fair, and honest, and can't be manipulated as easily as a rep button can.
