very expensive for me
I live in Belgium and i love collecting autographs but it's so expensive because i'm so far away from the U.S. I posted yesterday a letter en a few foto's to Betsy Palmer. I hope she will send me back, but i payed 9 € to send it to here (that's almost 10 dollars). I hate those international reply coupons. I think it is better to add some few dollars with the request instead of those reply coupons?
Re: very expensive for me
It cost you 9 euros to send a letter from Belgium to the US?
You must've sent a lot of stuff then, as it shouldnt cost that much...
But yeah, sending dollars is a cheaper alternative to sending IRCs.

Yes but the envelope was bigger then usual. I didn't want to bend the picturs (A4).Andy316 wrote:It cost you 9 euros to send a letter from Belgium to the US?You must've sent a lot of stuff then, as it shouldnt cost that much...

To compare:
I live in Germany (so nearly the same distance) and I pay 6€ or 4€ per request. It depends on the country to whom I send my request.
1. If it is within Europe I pay 2€ for postage and 2€ for IRC (total: 4€).
2. If it isn't within Europe (e.g. US) I pay 4€ for postage and 2€ for IRC (total: 6€).
I use a B5 envelope (16,2cmx23,00cm) which is designed for A5 paper. So there is enough space for my 14cmx18cm pictures.
Regards from Germany

Re: very expensive for me
Thanks for your comment. So if i understand this right, if you send your letter to someone in U.S.A, you add 1 international reply coupon? In Belgium i pay also 2 € for one coupon ; but one coupon is only worth 0,90 € . So your idol can buy stamps with this coupon (o,90 €), i don't think 1 coupon is enough.....matze16 wrote:To compare:

2 or 3 irc's should really be send if you want to make sure they have sufficient postage to return your item from the US to Europe. Or as a cheaper alternative send them 3 dollars, which has about the same value as 3 irc's. $0.90 x 3 = $2.70. {thumb2}
And with the current Dollar/Euro rate you are getting a much better deal that way.

Re: very expensive for me

I have already sent 2 requests to USA and 2 to UK with one IRC per request nearly 3 month ago. One from USA I got back some weeks ago (success!). The other ones are still missing.
Could the one IRC be the reason for getting no reply??? I hope not!!! That would be too bad ...
