1. Jill Paice was one of mine, that I got twice. She was actually the first letter I wrote, so I tried to have a modest sized letter (about front only), and the second time it was much longer (front+back).
2. Carolee Carmello, I actually wrote a very modest sized letter...about a page and a few lines on the back. She sent me an umbrella
. LOL She's awesome for the record!
3. Coleen Sexton, my most wanted, I have NOT got back yet so I'll tell you in about a month

WONDERLAND:Alice's New Musical Adventure enjoyed a short, but sweet run on Broadway in Spring of 2011!

Most of my letters tend to be really long, I wrote about 10-15 pages to Stephen Fry and John Cusack, for instance. I'm 99% sure they will never be read properly, but I just get carried away, I can't help it.
I think most celebs just look at the name and sign, or skim-read the letter if they have the time. It's touching when you get a reply in which the celeb responds to something you actually said in your letter, showing they read it. I've had that a few times. {thumb2}
I don't think the length of the letter makes much difference 99% of the time. As long as what you write is genuine and unique to the celebrity and not a "cut and paste" jobbie which is sent to lots of different people.

My letters are usually the same length whoever I write to. I try to limit myself to a page and sometimes it takes a lot of thinking about as I like to fit in a lot of info to prove I'm a die hard fan
I don't think the length of the letter matters. The thought and sincerity that goes in to it determines whether you'll get a good response from the celeb!
Having said that, a charity donation or gift goes a long way towards getting a good response. I have done this on several occasions - to show appreciation for the celeb, not to get a good reply - but I always get something nice in return when I send a donation

my letters are always brief, concise, and to the point. i tell them how i appreciate them, in what productions i was especially impressed, and request their signature on the item i sent.
it's worked well for me so far...

Ditto for me. I figure If I can't get it on 3/4 of a page, then I need to do a rewrite. Of course so far I've never gotten a special not or anything back either.
