I'd drop both Torres and Rooney and bring Big Al out of retirement- talk about 2 points dropped on Sunday lol!!

Although everyone will say "what a terrible display by Man Utd" people quickly forget the 'great display by Newcastle United' scenario lol. Great result at Old Trafford, interesting to see that fat guy who once was a manager and terrible football pundit not deciding to sit in the away end!! =)

Theo, what looks more impressive on paper for a striker? Goals or contribution? Again, would you have Rooney on your team (18 goals in 43 games) or Torres (25 in 34 games), as a manager who ultimately seeks goals from the striker to win games? It is Rooney's job to score, but instead the responsibility of victory is left up to the winger, Ronaldo. Someone already mentioned this before I did, but the tantrums are another thing. When Rooney plays you can almost guarantee he'll (annoyingly) be caught offside a couple of times throughout the game, and then throw a little strop about it when he's clearly wrong. That said, I'm not denying that he's decent with assists, and I really admire that he's a tough lad who doesn't roll around on the pitch like a wimp when tackled.

As for Giggs - a lot of people disagree, and agree, with my view. There are tons of people who phone into MUTV and say the same thing - Giggs is just not 'there' anymore, should retire, etc, but the presenters just bash these opinions down and tell the viewers to stop being so negative, and stop disrespecting a legend. It's not being negative/disrespectful. Giggsy is a great guy, but I don't think you can refrain from criticising someone now just because they used to be very good. He's not efficient on the pitch anymore, and we need Nani's fresh legs. As a sportsman, your performance is going to be criticized whether you're a legend or not, because no-one's perfect.

Glad we agree on Anderson, and Terry as captain however ;)

I agree with you about Torres OK, but you've got to admit you were wrong about Rooney being extremely overated.
Ferdinand vs Terry was a hard choice for Capello and i think whichever one he went for would of been a good decision but Terry has experience being captain and i think that's what edged it for Capello.
As i've said before Giggs can still do a job for Man Utd this and next season. Although he might retire at the end of this one.
One thing i'm sure you'd like about Anderson is the way he kicks the shit into all your rivals. How he didn't get a red like those other 2 brazilians yesterday I don't know. Messi, Riquelme and Sergio Aguero played amazing yesterday. Argentina 3-0

Good start to the season by my team (Newcastle United), really pleased with the point at Old Trafford last week! Really good game unlike last season lol. So glad I went, not very often we get any sort of result there! (think I'm right in saying in the last 30 games there - 23 losses and 7 draws lololol) Yesterday was a poor match but Bolton are always very hard to break down with their defensive tactics so in the end football prevailed! :D

We still need 1 or 2 strikers, and another midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Newcastle have started really well, i think they will get a UEFA place this season but need to up their game, looks like Kevin Keegans old magic is starting to come back.
I think they have done really well in the transfer window. Collocini is a great signing and Guthrie.

Shevchenko has officialy left Chelsea to go back to AC Milan and Senderos is having a medical to go to Ac as well.

Newcastle have indeed had a good start to the season but people need to be realistic. Unless they buy 1 or even 2 strikers and a winger if/when milner goes, there is no chance of a UEFA cup place. If their squad keeps free of injuries and buys then they might be close. But with Martins out and Owen just recovering but still injury-prone, they will find it hard to score too many and wont be able to close games.
Top-half finish is realistic, but still need to spend money on a depleated squad.

And a word on Joey Barton, all people deserve a second chance but he has to go and be banned. The player is a thug and if there was any justice to good people in the world he would be gone.

Oh don't get me started about Joey Barton, How he's still playing football is unbelievable, He's had enough "second" chances, he's probably had 5. Chelsea to win the Premierleague, they're amazing. Especially if they get Robinho.

Yep, to still be allowed to play after stubbing a lighted cigar in a team mates eye is beyond words. Absolute disgrace.

Ye, i duno how robinho will adapt though, there seems to be alot more space in La Liga, so we'll have to see.

Bit confused by Rafa Benitez again, Gerrard has been playing slighter deeper which is pointless for a creative player like himself.

As a Blackburn fan, you could think I am biased, but I think its starting to look up for us. Was very confused when Paul Ince took over but he has made some good signings and got us playing some nice football; maybe the relegation scrap which seemed inevitable will turn into a top half finish.
