Maybe have monthly awards with no prizes, and at the end of the year there is a poll set up with all of the montly winners and memebers can vote who wins the yearly prize, maybe they could get a prize....

P.S. - admin, http://test.dupra.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4 - that is a download for phpBB forum, allowing you to award medals, this could be used to give out the awards...

I'd be in support of this, as long as the awards were either for an achievment or nominated by the moderating staff. Otherwise, awards like "nicest" etc could just turn into a popularity contest =/

Looking at your topic I see you had mixed responses, most of the negative ones being directed and some people's ideas of awards (one which could lead to a popularity contest or spamming or the possibility of people posting fakes). The idea of member awards themselves if done correctly, was met with a positive response.
