i got it last summer. Her signature has changed a little bit, but i think christian signs out his full name now for some reason. I have seen a couple versions of his signatures on playbills!

That sounds... complicated O.o So you have to go to a particular area huh? I'll try and decipher what you wrote haha. I'm thinking of maybe TLM, POTO, and... hm... and yeahTheScarletPimpernel wrote:I don't get to stagedoor as much as I want to, but we stayed over Friday night into Saturday so I got to stagedoor this time.
There's really two kinds of casts...like ATOTC and LB.
The cast of A Tale of Two Cities is soooooooooo nice and seem excited about the show which is awesome (since theres some doubters out there!), especially Brandi Burkhardt who was talking to me for a little while.
The cast of Legally Blonde is very up in the air, totally depending on what day you go, random. Christian Borle (Emett) and Kate Shindle (Vivienne) just about NEVER come out. Kate does not sign TTM either. Orfeh and Bailey Hanks (Elle) do NOT come out after matinees. So usually after a matinee, I really only had some ensemble members and the actress playing Brooke (Nicolette Hart), and Ven Daniels, the UPS guy.
I didn't wait around long enough at the ATOTC stagedoor, because I only really came for two...Natalie Toro (Madame DeFarge) and Brandi Burkhardt (Lucie).
After you exit, you should get in line where the barricades are set up. Most of them are easy to find, either to the left or to the right of the main entrance (some exits take you out the back, outside and then to the front again). Some are totally complicated. LEGALLY BLONDE/The Palace Theatre is one such, where if you leave through the main doors, you have to wrap around where the Double Tree is on 47th. Or if you leave the theatre on the street doors towards the left (when looking at the stage) it's right there. That one actually says "STAGE DOOR" on it. The Hilton (Young Frankenstein) is another one, where you have to leave through the right exit or walk all the way from 42nd to 43rd. Never did it for that one, though from what I hear the cast is similar to LB's...not always going to come out. I have no idea for the Mariott Marquis, but nothings playing right there anyway!
Some people stagedoor without seeing hte show, which I guess is OK. I mean I don't know what you'd say to them but whatever...you just need to find out how long the show is, so for instance 2hrs 30 minutes (generally all are give or take 15) and then usually about 10 minutes after that you start to see the ensemble members come out, although for ATOTC one of the stars was the frist to come out so you never know!
Thanks though
xxSkye

Phantom is simple. You walk out the main doors and its to the left, towards the Broadhurst where Equus will be.
The Little Mermaid's is to the right when you walk out of the main entrance.
And Blonde's is on 47th. Not too complicated.
On tops of this, they all have barricades and stagedoor managers who push people where they need to be, etc.

Do you need to pay or can you just give them the playbill?TheScarletPimpernel wrote:Phantom is simple. You walk out the main doors and its to the left, towards the Broadhurst where Equus will be.

How do you know where the stagedoors are?

LOL You need to pay the show. If you're just going to stagedoor, then no. It's free because it's basically the actors are leaving to go home.
Playbills are free. Some people bring CD booklets to be signed, or there autograph book (rare! LOL), but most have playbills to be signed. I would suggest you get a playbill (you could probably get one from the box office during the show if you didn't see it). Some people jsut take pictures. Or you could buy a souvenir program before the show (which are usually $10-$20 and sold during the show INSIDE or about 45 minutes before the show starts outside where the line to get in starts.) as many people get those signed too.
I cannot recommend bringing a photo of the person, unless it's of you two (which you usually mail) and it's sort of odd to stagedoor a Broadway show if the star(s) aren't very famous on the Hollywood side (obviously someone like Clay Aiken or Katie Holmes is a different story).
And I've been to a few stagedoors, or when you leave it's not hard to see the metal barricades surrounding a 5ft walkway against the building with a non-pictured door at the top of it. Also, you'll find that many people will probably already be waiting. Also, it should be noted that it doesn't matter if your first or last in line. Honestly, you could be accidently passed over (it's happened to me, especially if you're actually talking to the actors).
