Personalising and gifts.

Does anyone send small gifts in with their fanmail? I read in another topic of a woman that sends small gifts with her letters. I'd like to send something with mine, as a way of appreciating the celebrities that do send back to their fans, but I have no idea what to send, any suggestions?
Also, about personalised autographs. Do you have to ask the celebrity in question to personalise something for you, or do you just have to hope that they will?

If i do send gifts , i don't tell anyone as then people will probably copy me and then it wont be unique so , im sorry but im not saying , but what i will say it that personally i ask for a personalized autograph {thumb2}

Ive never asked for personalised autographs and Ive recieved 99% personalised back.

Some celebs dont sign for you on the spot, the PA's usually put your name at the top of the autograph for EG David tennant.

It really depends who you write to.

for the presents thing, I wouldnt send one to everyone as most dont even read fan mail, but I have had some personal replies from celebs so if I wrote to them again I know they would recieve it. In my mind they are the ones that deserve it for being so dedicated to fans {thumb2}

I do send small gifts to celebs sometimes, but only to celebs I really admire and I want to make my letter more special. Always it's something small, often handmade or something related to the celebrity's hobby or something they like. It should be nothing expensive or big, it should fit in regular envelope. And it's good to send these gifts only to celebs who you know might really get it, not to someone really famous who gets hundreds of letters and gifts from fans every week.

As for personalizations, it's good to check the feedbacks for the celebrity and find out if they usually personalize their autograph without asking. If they do, you don't have to ask for it (but you can, of course). If not, you can try to ask them in your letter for personalizetion, but it can't guaratee the celeb would really do it. However, I often ask for personalization, just to be sure. It's a sign you're true fan and you don't want to sell the celeb's autograph.

I will accosionally send gifts with my requests, for example I'm writing to this young Actress in October who likes the Pittsburgh Penguins Ice Hockey Team, and I just happened to have 30 cards of the players. So I'm sending her some!

And Yes, I request that all Items I send be Personalized. {thumb2} Then it's up to the celeb on how many they do.

Thanks that is really helpful, just wondering - do you have any examples of celebrities that you have sent gifts to and what you sent - if you don't mind me asking. The whole personalising thing - how do you put it in writing - I was wondering if you could sign me a personalised autograph and so on?! Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm new to fanmail-writing!
