Is it ok to put scotch tape to close an envelope?

I just read somewhere that if you put tape over your postage they post office will not send the mail, does that mean you cant tape an envelope flap or just the stamps? Im confused. Because I usually tape the envelop flap because I dont want anyone opening it besides the person im sending it to. HELP PLEASE ! Thanks

You can't tape the stamps. But you can use tape to close your envelope.

oh ok yea haha i knew you couldt tape the stamps i guess i miss understood what the person was saying. cause i always tape my envelope.

Don't over do it with the tape. Only use it when you need it. The harder you make it for the signer, the less likely you'll get a success.

You can tape up your envelope, but don't tape over the stamps.

Also, like Try23 said, don't overdo the tape either. You don't want someone to struggle to open your envelope.

Yeah I always put clear tape on my envelopes to seal them up, but never on the Stamps. I've found that when I use tape to seal the envelopes shut, The celeb will do the same when they return my sase. It's cool becuase sometimes when the celeb will lick the seal part of it will stick to the photos! :o Which is not good. But when they seal it with tape they arrive perfectly! {thumb2}

Lol Id be screwed if tape wasnt allowed.

Last week I wrote 10 letters and sealed them up putting them on the side to post later, I left the room and came back a few minutes later to my 2 little children telling me how helpfull they are for opening my letters They'd ripped them so I had to carefully tape them back together not goint near the stamps.

I wasn't happy
