Alan Rickman failure

Unread post by dani »

I sent to Alan Rickman to Donmar Warhouse theatre in London where he is directing currently "The Creditors"
Today I received the usual letter from Melanie Parker telling he could'nt sign my pics. {down} {down} {down}
I know that this time he IS in London, and he signed for some people here. So, how does he choose those he signs for and those he doesn't sign. :?
I even saw a Harry Potter picture signed by him on the forum!

Hi Danielle!

Sorry about your failure! :(

Oh, that's too bad, I just decided to sent him something there...well..I must re-think of it. I think his choosing of people to sign for is very random, I doubt he's got some system in it...well, you were the unlucky one this time :( .

Sorry for the dissapointment. I would presume it is his secretary who choses the few people that he does sign for. dont take it personally. He probably never even sees the mail.

Unbelievable!

I sent to the Donmar Warehouse as I thought I would have a better chance of a success. After seeing so many people get their photos back unsigned from his agency I wasn't even going to bother sending to there. The successes that come out of his agency are so few and far between, and extremely random by the look of it. I was extremely surprised to see three successes from his agency very recently.

We know he is in London, that is why he is signing obviously. That he is signing through his agency is what is so odd. As sending to his agency provides a rare success, it would seem logical the only way to catch him would be vv.

This is just plain frustrating. :( I can only cross my fingers and hope I am one of the few lucky ones now---even though I sent VV.

Well, I wish you luck.
I resent the pictures to Melanie Parker, thanking her for her letter (at least now I have her autograph ;-) ), and asking that she kept the pictures until he had time to sign them, and that I didn't care even if I had to wait some months.
Let's see what happens, I'll keep you updated.

I have seen one person get a success by asking them to hold on to it. Then I saw someone get theirs back and being told they couldn't hold onto it for them. But one of the recent successes was sent a few months ago I think it was. So that appears to have been held.

I just got mine back unsigned from Donmar. That costs me $8 dollars each time I send to him. It appears obvious the only way to get a success from him is to just keep sending to his agency again and again and again until you get lucky enough to be one of the ones he signs. I can't afford to do that at $8 each time.

Just plain frustrating. When you send to his agency so many people get a reply saying he is unavailable. He is off working somewhere and that makes sense. I understand that. So it seems logical to send to him VV where he "is" available. But even that doesn't work. And they won't always hold it for you for when he is available.

The only other recourse is to send repeatedly until you get lucky---if you can afford it.

dani and nightowl - I just got mine back from Donmar too! I was so happy that I might finally get a success from him there...but like you, I didn't :( It's very frustrating since I'm a huge fan and I bet you all are too! Congrats to those who got successes though...I'm just wicked jealous :)

Yes, it would be so nice to have some insight into how those are chosen for autographs. Does his secretary read the letters and chose the ones she likes? Or does he? Or is it literally random. Why would he sign three and not ours? I don't get it? Especially the vv ones. There must be a LOT more agency requests than VV ones. That's why they are usually successful over agency requests. Oh well . . . :(
