Why would you think he would be complaining about getting so much fan mail?
Because he's a rich old git who has better things to do than do something nice for the people who got him into the position of being a rich old git?

And if people who write more than once or twice are a problem then there is always the Ian McKellen or George Foreman approach. Sign 1 item per person, or keep a list of who has written to you previously. And if your so worried about people flogging your autographs on ebay then personalize everything and sign every request, if everything is personalized and your autograph is ten a penny it will be worthless. problem solved. Which i expect isn't the case anyway, more the rich old git syndrome.

He was definatly less than nice and apologetic about it anyway from the video.

The Beatles may have been cool in the day but the last 2 are moody old farts now. Don't waste your time on them.

Exactly...I don't see why he didn't turn to that. He should have kept a record like Gary Player...one per household per lifetime. lol

Hm, this is a little disappointing, but I can't blame Ringo. He probably gets thousands of letters a month, and signing can be pretty time consuming. I still love Ringo, he is my absolute hero.

But I'm a little worried...I sent my letter way back in June to his Monaco address, does that mean he won't sign it? Or he won't sign any more autographs TTM after Oct. 20th, so the ones already sent will be signed?

@ Gary2880 Is that what Ian McKellen does? Well then he's very sensible, as I absolutely treasure my autograph from him and to think he could have taken the Ringo approach 4 years ago with the height of LOTR and X-Men.....

LOL! I have to agree with pretty much most of what you said. If he really felt the need to no longer accept autographs, he could have been more tactful and polite. At least Viggo Mortensen did it the right way.

I know! It's hilarious...trying to make other users feel stupid by editing your own post when OTHER users can see that. That's like a quadruple pwnage. (sorry...love my internet slang)

From what i read/remember Ian McKellen will only sign 1 autograph per single request and sign it with the persons full name, but i think you can write twice and get another, not entirely sure.

And i remember reading that George Foreman keeps a list of everyone who has written to him before.

Conversely, how easy is it to get a Judi Dench autograph? Obviously there will still be people trying to sell them on ebay which is sad but if people dont sign because there stuff ends up on ebay, then that will just force real fans to buy either fakes or rare in persons for huge amounts of money. all because they dont sign ttm.

really dont think it would be so hard for them to work all that out.

That he says he will toss anything "post marked" after Oct. 20, would suggest that he will sign those sent prior to that date.

I sent a request with one photo on June 11, so I hope he signs it.
