At least something has to happen to the President (not that I want anything to happen to either of them no matter who gets elected) before the Vice President becomes the President.

As a general rule I would think that a governor would have more executive experience than a Senator. At least she had to run something besides a campaign.

In case you've forgotten, both McCain and Obama are senators, so neither has had any top-level executive experience ;)

Palin has never worked for the federal government. And while she is governor, she hasn't held that office for a worthwhile period, so that's a bit of a raspberry too. Previously, she was only mayor of a town with a measly 5000 people in it. Now contrast that with the population of Illnois, and see what a serious politician has to deal with!

As I've said previously, Palin wasn't chosen for her experience (there's hardly any of it), but just as a sly political move to get the female vote.

Biden didn't even want to be Obama's running mate in the first place, too...we have some messed up VPs this election, don't we? But all I know is for some reason, Republicans back Palin because of her experience...which she lacks, which I don't get. :?

I dont think the world needs another 4 years of moronic bible thumping god fearing right wing morons. You think Obama is unelequent, have you been watching the debates? grandad in his wheelchair is hardly an oxbridge graduate himself.

how about the american public (the ones that believe in a god at least, that seems to be the defining factor) sit down, shut up, and let the adults of the world make the decision who should run their country for a change since they like to stick their nose in our affairs so much i think it only fair.

I love how many times you see the right show themselves for the facist backward degenerates that they are. hes an arab, hes a marxist (or maxist as i saw one bright spark call it) hes a communist, he has no experience, hes going to steal my guns, hes black. I would rather vote for a pensioner and a woman that makes thatcher look like george galloway. why the hell are these brain dead hicks given the right to vote on something as important as who runs the country! i'm not even sure half of them should be let near a sharpend pencil to make the cross in the box.

And when obama sadly gets assasinated, which he will, i hope it may serve as a wake up call that america is not the shining light and pevayors of democracy to the free world when one of your christian religious fanatics assasinate someone that was democratically elected just because he was black. land of the free, home of the brain dead christian fundamentalist
You should do your homework and read up on Obama.
He is not what you think he is. {down}
He isn't this great guy thats going to help you and blah blah blah!
You shouldn't always believe the stupid media!
And what have you found out about Obama by doing your homework. That hes an Arab right? that he'll curse america with the evils of socialism and communism? capitalism doesnt seem to hot at the moment does it.
Barack Obama is sooo wrong!
ABORTION NEEDS TO STOP!
Why? because your stupid fairy tale book says so? abortion is wrong but bombing the middle east into buggery is a-o.k. I love this whole right wing - pro life bs. not so pro life regarding a few hundred thousand Iraqi's are they. grow up.

go bama.

McCain is a great man - there's no doubt about that.

His campaign has been highly successful and a few months back then; the polls between McCain and Obama was pretty tight.

But from the moment McCain picked Palin - It all went wrong. I understand that he picked Palin to attract female voters but she's totally unsuitable for VP!

And all of the sudden, McCain's campaign strategy is all wrong - comparing Obama to terrorist in TV ads ... Pathetic. :?

I just wish we can rewind back to September and let McCain pick his running mate again. But still - it is McCain over Obama for me. ;-)

so sick fed up of these bloody people thinking that just because they have this "god given right" to free speech means that they just have to use it. if there is nothing up stairs then dont open the trap door.

rather than another right wing nutter the world needs a good decent humanitarian left wing person thats willing to put boot to arse on this joyus little capitalist system thats on the go and cut some fat.

me for world leader. 8)

i'm sorry, but you just made the UK look really bad.

I agree with Gary's posts (as always  ).

The thing that sickens me most about Palin (apart from her hatred for women's rights and animals) is the fact that she wants to shove her religion down everyone's throats. Sure, it's her perogative to believe whatever she wants, but don't bring it up all the time and NEVER let it interfere with your political policies. Abortion is only 'wrong' in her eyes because some book with no validity tells her that. Would she consider it wrong if someone close to her was raped, or was carrying a child conceived through incest? Everytime I think of her I want to throw up. As foreigners we like to think of America as this extremely progressive, land of freedom and dreams with intelligent people like Obama, Gore, Gates etc...but then you get smacked with the unfortunate contrast of the wafer-thin minded Palin.

I'm not from USA so my opinion doesn't really count but I'd definitely vote for Obama.
I think he's the right one. I just hope McCain won't win cuz there are consequences all over the world, not only in USA.

It's called "most" of the rest of the worlds opinion of your country pal. If the inbred yokels in middle america would tune off of faux news or read a newspaper every now and again they may realize that rather than having their heads burried inside their flavour of holy jihad book. Palin makes the U.S. look like a forward thinking progressive country does it? out of 300 million people thats the very best you could come up with. Makes the U.S. look rather bad i would have thought if she is the cream of the crop to be representitive of half the population :o Worry about your own problems first and you may get on better.

She is a religious fantatic as is george bush as are most right wing voting republicans. how about we put someone with some gray matter between their ears in office and try to move away from fanatical christians fighting fanatical muslims because each ones feckulant book says they are right. when the utter irony is they are both wrong and are both morons!

McCain - I will put america first!

oh well that will make a nice change opposed to, were number 1!, were number 1!, squatting down and dropping a big stinky one in the worlds lap.

America has this really odd situation that i cant get my head around and can only pin it on 2 or 3 things. In almost all countrys most of the voting populis votes left wing and labour because they represent the common working man, the majority and the right wing conservatives represent the higher middle class and upper class members of society.

But this is completely opposite in middle america. the lowest of the low working farmer will vote for the right? the options i can see are that it is still a remnance of the cold war, they are being bribed with guns, and the bible. each one of those options leads to the fact that middle america have through generations of not getting enough fresh air to the brain, being told america is the only thing that matters in the world, guns and the bible, the right have played on their ignorance and managed to brainwash generations into thinking that right is right. if the guns and bibles were taken away over a few generations middle america may just have a chance of being taken seriously as rational adult human beings.

If you were able to cut the middle out of america and let it float away into the distance and joined the east and west coasts together you may have the begings of a serviceable country. good luck with that.
