do you consider a war veteran a celebrity
ok guys today a veteran came to my school, and at lunch he was sitting in the cafteria with my history teacher. anyway i was just about to leave the cafeteria with my freinds when i said ill catch up with you guys in a bit i wanna just say hi to this veteran and shake his hand, so i did that introutouced myself and then said thanks for what you did for our country, he then said thank you son. and then invited me to sit with him and he talked to me for about 10 minutes he then gave me his business card and i asked him if could sign it because hes a real hero. and he did. but ya do you consider a veteran a celebrity i mean he did so much for us all. and would you consider their autograph to be something special?

Re: do you consider a war veteran a celebrity
I voted 'no'.
To me a celebrity is someone well-known on a fairly large scale, who is in the public eye and whose life is of interest to a group of people called fans.
A war veteran is exactly that - a war veteran (I like to call to them historical figures). That doesn't mean they're not 'cool' though, or that you shouldn't ask for their autograph!
(the only war veteran who I would classify as a celebrity is someone like John McCain)

I would say that it depends really on the person you ask. Personally, I do believe that every vet is a hero, for the simple reason they have done something to serve their country - regardless of if they agreed with it or not.
I collect signatures of Medal of Honor recipients, as well as Tuskegee Airmen. I have a lot of military signatures, most are unknown, but I believe that they are heroes no matter what.

I would have to say no, they're not a celebrity - they're a hero. There's a big difference. Personally, I think hero's are a lot greater anyway
so it's a special autograph for sure.

NO.
A war veteran deserves much, MUCH more respect and admiration than a celebrity.
Calling a war veteran a celebrity is an insult to them.

Re: do you consider a war veteran a celebrity
To those who mentioned being able to do so - How were you able to get autographs from the Tuskegee Airmen? I've spent a lot of time looking for current contact information with no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!!
