Ok So I have been seeing the term LOR lately. I usually just learn by inference.. but what does this stand for?

In the case of charity collecting- it can mean "letter of referral", That's the one that states that the charity endorses someone or (in my case) and organization to raise funds for them. Although, I am not sure if that's what you're talking about.
