AUSTRALIA Paris premiere (Hugh Jackman&Nicole Kidman)

Unread post by Bria »

Hello there !

This monday was the "Australia" Paris premiere. Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, and the director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliette, etc.) were there to present the movie.

Image

So, Baz arrived first, but he didn't signed autographes. Mostly because Hugh and Nicole arrived just after so people called them, and not Baz :roll: :lol:

Hugh Jackman was amazing and very nice !! He signed a lot of autographes, and was smiling to his fans. So I've got his autographe !! {love} {thumb2}

Then my friends and I were calling for Nicole. And she came, just in front of me ! :shock: So I was happy, thinking she was about to signe my photo. She took my pen and....signed my friend's picture, and then gave me back my pen, without signing my picture ! :o :mad: :neutral:
That's so disappointing and frustrating !!
I had a beautiful photo of her from a photoshoot. My friend had a black&white one from the movie Australia, on a simple paper (mine was on real photo paper)...I gess that's why she signed it, and not mine. :(
It seems she is afraid that her autographes are sold on eBay ! :roll:

Then we had to wait about 1h30 for them to be back from the cinema. (it was soooo cold outside !)
So, Nicole came back first, she signed some autographes on blank paper and totally ignored people with photos {down}

Image

So when everybody was calling "Nicole", I was the only one calling "Keith" ! :lol: (and I'm pretty happy I did cause he looked at me for the picture)

Image

Then the director Baz Luhrmann came, so we called him. He signed me an autographe on a "Moulin Rouge" picture. He said "woow it's Moulin Rouge", and was very nice.

But as Hugh was in front at the same time, we were not able to call him again (I mean, the director was just in front of me, it would have been rude to scream "HUGH" at this moment :lol: ) So even if he signed a lot of autographes again, I wasn't able to have a second one.

Image

But that doesn't matter, I've got one, that's the most important because I was there mostly to see him ! {thumb2}
So I'm verry happy about the premiere, even if I'm disappointed about Nicole Kidman's behaviour. She was so cold and rude, that's sad {down}

Hey Elodie!

I honestly envy you living in Paris, seeing all of these successes from various premieres :mrgreen: . That's amazing you got Hugh's autograph, huge congrats! I'd love to have one, too :D Hmm, that thing about Nicole not signing photos...that's a shame you didn't bring also an autograph book or something, but it wasn't polite of her to use your pen for signing your friend's picture! :? Well, at least you've got Hugh's auto ;-) Congrats again!

OMG, thats a brilliant success Bria! Nicole sorta is a funny character, but I think she did not sign photos because she may have been in the belief that they may have been put online for sale (honestly, dealers really ruin it for fans/collectors). I so wish I was in Paris right now. So many premiers and such and its a good place to spend the holiday season too haha

Thanks so much for sharing!

Cheers

I actually had blank paper (always have, in case of non expected guests !) but you know, it was to quick, I wasn't able to took a paper :?
But I had it when she was back, but as everybody around me had photos she didn't come to me this time...

As you said afem, it's because of the dealers. I can understand celebrities are mad about sellers, but that's not fair for fans like me. I have wait more than 5 hours outside, it was very cold, and even raining. I have to be crazy to do that :roll: :lol:

I can understand why dealers ruin it for some fans but there are so many others that they make the hobby easier for. I don't live around any movie premiere places so I actually like the dealers because it gives me a chance to get autographs from my favorite celebrities which would otherwise be impossible.

Nicole Kidman is No.10 on this years worst signers list. I guess she's there for a reason.

Great Hugh Jackman success, he's always nice to his fans. Nicole Kidman is one of the worst signers in my experiences. She motioned to us that she would sign for us later, but turns out that she lied to us and went straight into her car. The crowd booed her a few times. Some graphers said Nicole pulled her husband, Keith Urban's hand away when he went to sign autographs at an event last month.

Thats very true Bria. I can understand the amount of hours of waiting and stuff can be very tiring and painful when your there to meet one person. Reminds me of Toronto International Film Festival where we waited 7-8 hours during each of the days, sometimes even more during long nights. Sometimes its just down to luck. Most people are usually fans but autograph dealers usually like to bust in front of the line and you can tell the difference between a dealer and fan/collector. Celebrities must have got use to that.

Id carry an autograph book at any event just in case, so you can pull it out fast rather than a piece of paper. Far more handy and far more useful in long term

I truly agree with your point. However, your taking it in the view that you are getting something you would never get from one individual. If you go to any of the premiers, autograph dealers are quite nasty. For example, when I met Gerard Butler at the Rock N Rolla premier during the Toronto International Film Festival, there were like 100-200 people at exit waiting for him and it was a small barricade and stuff. I was in front and the dealers more or less behind. I truly admire the guy as his acting is quite amazing so I brought a poster and what not. If your a fan of a guy, getting 1-2 signatures is fine, because you actually care about the guy/woman as an actor. The guys behind me were autograph dealers and they were dishing photos as he kept signing them. Gerard even at one point told the guy "I think I signed like 9 for you mate" or something like that. Thats the plain wrong. If your a dealer and want to make money, get one or two photos and then sell them to help people who can't get autographs and in return make a little cash on it. But hounding the celebrity is just wrong.

As guilder1st and devilson9991 said, she is one of the worst signers. However, there is a theory behind this. Usually people who bring their husbands along and are like BIG stars, usually don't sign at all in my experience and seeing other people on this board. When Guy Ritchie was with Madonna, he barely or never signed at all at any event. However, when I met him at TIFF during Rock N Rolla, he was ready to sign quite a bit. Of course, there are exceptions like Kate Beckinsale and all, but different things happen. Nicole is in general known to be a hard signer, it just depends on the location, the event, and how everything shows out.

Okay, I think I have typed enough. I don't want to be making a persuasive essay here haha.

Great success nonetheless Bria! Hopefully I can attend a Paris premier one day. Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Nice Success!

I like the photo of Hugh you got signed. I prepared that photo as well, but didn't have time to get it signed, as Hugh was in a hurry. It seems like Hugh always use The simplified version for all the premiere autographs.

I am sorry you didn't get Nicole Kidman's autograph, i think maybe your friend's movie photo draw her attention better than other photos.

I didn't get director Baz Luhrmann's autograph, i didn't have anything for him to sign when he walked pass, all the photos i prepared are Nicole and Hugh's. And i don't want a 3rd person auto on that movie photo i have.

In any premieres, it's like gambling. No matter you how good the spot is, there is no guarantee for autographs and photos.

Seems so silly.....even scraps of paper can be sold so why not sign a photo or two , as long as the celeb doesn't suspect a dealer then what's the big deal....seems petty when you consider how many millions they pull in yearly.......
