Re: TheScarletPimpernel - new Autograph Expert?

I voted yes

Why?
1. He has a good knowledge about broadway, the system, how to get autographs, authenticity and what not. Being an expert doesn't mean you have to know EVERYTHING.

2. I personally have not seen his attitude on the board. He is quite a friendly and helping person. I don't know if its on a one-to-one basis that he is rude or w/e.

3. He has not followed the rules how? I can only see his signature being a problem. Otherwise, he has barely done anything wrong the board.

4. What could possibly be the problem in making him an expert? With everything that has gone wrong, what more can go wrong? There are TM coming in like everyday now. mymymy for example became a trainee moderator. Why? he comes on the board, posts and then leaves. I have not seen any "moderating" by him at all.

5. Having an expertise in one section is quite good as well. Not many people here know much about broadway and VV successes are majorly from Broadway, from the past little while anyways. He will contribute alot in that sense.

Honestly, there should be an "Autograph Expert" title and a "Broadway Expert" title because they are two different fields in collecting quite honestly.

Hope that clears my view. Of course, I am out voted 1:12 so I don't see the point of me posting this.

he now says he's resigned his position, so he shouldnt even be considered for this now, especially after his last post in the signature thread
TheScarletPimpernel wrote:I know it says that I am a TM, but I have "resigned" the title, so relax.

Secondly, I have gotten my signature approved!

Third, I'm not trying to be rude, impolite or immature. I'm not a kid either, so I don't know where you were going with that one.

It was YOUR people that have PM'd me several times telling to rid my signature, etc.; I did not make that part up.

Lastly, if you people are going to inforce these stupid rules, you all better support them too. Here are 3 examples of signatures that are of the same size or larger on this thread alone that need revisions.

And I'm only enforcing the rules you all endorse. If you don't abide by the rules why should I or anyone for that matter follow? You have two images in your signatures Mr. Kennedy & Shambler. That's too bad, delete one of them; if I'm only allowed to have one, then you too are only allowed one. If these unnecessary rules are going to be imposed, then I will help to make sure they're enforced the right way.

I also voted no.

My reasoning:
Yes, he seems to know a lot about Broadway, HOWEVER, he is not the be all and the end all of Broadway collecting. I've been collecting Broadway playbills since the early 90's when my mother got me started by going to Broadway. My mom and grandmother also collected Playbills, and he truly believes that some my mom got in person are fake.

He calls himself the "broadway expert" - which kind of really annoys me, because yea, he knows a lot, but no one here appointed him to that position, he appointed it to himself: http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewtopic ... 60#p501460

Just my opinion - I think he's got a bad attitude about a lot of things, and I've seen him get quite nasty with people who are new to the Broadway scene. He once took one of my posts to a newbie and changed the wording slightly, and maybe added 2 sentences (nothing new in it really) so it was very redundant.
Favorite Autographs: Luciano Pavarotti (IP), Joan Baez, Dorothy Hammill (IP)
Newest Autos: Tim Allen, Daniel Radcliffe x3, John Lithgow

Hmm, I should really hold a committee before I stand with an opinion of someone LOL

I had no idea that he had done ALLLL that in the past few months.

Kinda redundant me saying this now, but my "yes" can be now a "no" - I honestly don't think self-tagging yourself an expert is either ethical or proper. Nor is stating the authenticity of a persons autograph who has been collecting for longer than himself.

But I must ask, why are there so many TM's now? its quite stupid because half of them don't do anything and the other half, who don't deserve it, come asking for higher positions.
