Quit editing email addresses out of peoples post
The rule is you cant have the word EMail in the subject line, thats what your suposed to edit out, Admins said before that its up to the poster if they want to post the email.
and its pretty redicoulous when Admin ask the poster for the address, then a mod deletes it

Why should we contribute to spam?! Do you know how many people abuse the whole email system, requesting free autographs for the sake of it? I'm sorry, but that ruins it for the real fans.
As far as I remember, the majority of moderators came to a consensus in another topic (in Forum Ideas), that we'll edit out email addresses. If someone wants the email address, they can just PM the thread-starter!

Look what happened to the Theo Walcott address?
Sorry, but this isn't going to work. I think fanmail.biz as one of the biggest autograph forums has the responsibility of preventing spam, especially when it comes to email addresses of celebrities. If we don't edit the email addresses, the spammers/ dealers are one click away from harassing the fanmail system of the celeb by obtaining an autograph via email from someone they are not a fan of, sometimes, someone who they don't even know
Jason.

I would like to add that I believe fanmail.biz should have a password protected forum which selected members will have access to for email addresses / private addresses.

I don't think that'll be implemented Jason. I suggested the idea a long time ago, and everyone seemed to think it was a 'bad' ideajasonw wrote:I would like to add that I believe fanmail.biz should have a password protected forum which selected members will have access to for email addresses / private addresses.

jdp3577 - What A Stupid Statement, You Are A Mod, Surely You Should Now About Emails Getting Spammed, Jason Is Right Look At Theo Walcott, Someone Posted Up An Address And Email, And People Abused It
Look At The Michael Phelps Email Address - Spammed. And Even The Late Don La Fontaine, That Was Spammed Just Because He Sent Out Signed Scripts, But As He Was A Nice Guy, He Sent Out And Paid For Postage For Everyone That Emailed.
I Use Email, But Only For MP's Which Is For My Political Collection Or For Athletes Who I Admire.
Thanks,
Sam

Re: Quit editing email addresses out of peoples post
so when Admin ask a member what e mail they used, its pretty pointless for them to post it, because some mods just going to delete it. maybe you should ask admin to stop asking for the e mails.
