fanmail via private address?

i have had this question for awhile and i just thought about asking it here.
i have stumbled upon a celebrity's home address (i swear, it was on a youtube video; so i did a little research to find out if it was accurate). i want to send this person some fanmail to their home. is it illegal (in other words; will i get arrested for "stalking"?) to send a celebrity fanmail to their home address? i don't want to send it if there's a great possibility of being arrested or something. let me know, thanks!

it probably depends on the celebrity, but i dont think you could get arrested but hey youll never knoww.

Letter may be trashed by the celeb though.......if the celeb constantly gets letters from a fan then I can understand they'd be upset , esp if thru a home address.

You won't get arrested - the worst that can happen is that the celeb will just throw your letter away. If you write continuously however, that's a different story as it can constitute stalking.

Even though it's considered disrespectful and an invasion of their privacy, I'd say give it a shot just once- some celebs hate it, whereas some don't mind at all. I had one success through a home address and the celeb in question was extremely kind to me in his reply.

I don't think that you will have any problems with the law if you will send a letter via home address. As someone already said, the worst thing that may happen - celebrity may just throw your letter away. If he/she receives too much fan mail to his/her home... well, I believe you understand that it's quite impolite and rude. The best thing you could do is to send a kind, friendly letter without annoying questions. It's bad enough that tabloids hound celebs too much, they wouldn't want fans to do that as well. Live and let live! {love} I mean, give that celeb a little happiness by your letter and you'll find happiness back!

To be honest I had same situation. For some reasons I had private home addresss of one celeb. I liked (why liked?.. Like! {love} ) him much and I wrote him a nice creative letter. I did not ask for any authographs. Celebs are normal people just like us, so he was pleased and responded me back. I hope I'm not too annoying, but as he asked some questions in his letter, I wrote him back I'm going to send this letter in a few days.

i'm glad that i'm seeing my way on this one, haha. i can't wait to write and see what happens. hopefully they'll be gracious about it and commend my bravery for sending to a private residence, haha.
