For me, the longest I've waited was Placido Domingo (an opera tenor) and that wait was 4 years. I know I've sent a ton of requests to him, about 7, because I never heard back.
First mailed: 2004
Received in 2008

I did mail to him in the 1980's and 1990's, but I couldn't tell you when with that one.. so I'm going by my current lists of sent/received autographs.

Before 2000, all my records were on paper. Around 2000 I started typing my records.
Favorite Autographs: Luciano Pavarotti (IP), Joan Baez, Dorothy Hammill (IP)
Newest Autos: Tim Allen, Daniel Radcliffe x3, John Lithgow

Hi! ;-)

My longest wait was approximately 1 year (not too bad, seeing as Selise waited 4 years!). It was from Zac Efron, I wrote to him on 1 October 2007 and got a reply from him on 19 August 2008. {up} Another one which also took a while was from Mark Wahlberg, I sent to him on 7 January 2008 and he replied on 4 September 2008. {thumb2} I don't mind waiting, as long as I get a reply eventually, I'm very happy!

Good luck!

The longest time to get a reply was about 7 years from Phillies pitcher Don Carman. He then signed the three requests that I sent him during that time.

Over 9,000 requests sent since 1986.

Hi there,

I'm new to this board, but not to this hobby.

I was almost inactive since 2003 and sent out just a couple of requests even though I always wanted to, but just didn't have the time to write something or just was to lazy :? , but now after the first few requests (nothing back, yet) the old fascination for this hobby is back and it's really fun  , so fanmail.biz seems to be the right place to be and to get in touch with other collectors.

But back to the question the longest wait...

I always keep record and never delete my old records as I had some response times longer than 1 year (Jon Voight, Mira Sorvino...) but my longest took almost 2 years :o to get back to me (but 4 or 7  years as I read in other posts...can't beat that):

Gene Hackman - sent: 05. July 1997 received: 25. June 1999 (1 year, 11 months, 20 days to be exact)

the number of my autographs received displays the number of people I have autographs from...as for instance I have 2 autographs of Sir Anthony Hopkins the total amount of autographs in my collection is higher than the number displayed on the left
