waiting time question

I have browsed through the "waiting time" subject and it was helpful, I just have one question and maybe I missed it but I didn't see it. Occassionally I will check into the celebs info page and read feedbacks and I am noticing that many of teh celebs that i wrote to have been responding to others in about a 2ish month time period and I am still waiting on mine that I have been waiting on for 6+ months is that a normal part of collecting? or is my mail just not getting to me? I have sent out over 100 requests and have gotten about 18 back. I hope you are able to answer my question. I am new at the whole collecting thing, I haven't even been doing it a year so I really am/was not sure what to expect. I figured the celeb was just super crazy busy at first.

The amount of time a celeb took for someone else has NO BEARING on how long your request will take.

Yeah Waiting time varies. I've has some requests take anywhere from 2 days to over 700! Also you mentioned you've sent over 100 requests and only got 18 back. Did you include photos and SASE's with each request? because That would greatly affect how many would reply and how fast too.

Mr Kennedy is correct, you just can't compare others' waiting time to the same celebrity as yours. Believe me, I've waited sometimes a month longer to get my reply than other members here, and I sent my request before them! So I guess it depends on where your letter ended up in the mail to the celebrity and sometimes they get back to your letter at a later time.

Thanks everyone your replies have been helpful. It makes me feel better, I thought our mil was getting lost! This hobby is so addicting! To answer a question that was asked to me about sending a SASE and photo. my answer is no I just send a letter. First I don't have many photos to send. I however, did send one photo to a celeb with a SASE and still have not gotten anything back. Actually it was kind of funny because about 2 days after I sent the mail the celeb changed his contact address. Thanks so much again you all were helpful!!
Another question for you (this probably isn't the right forum to put it in) is it a good rule of thumb that if an autograph comes back deticated it is authentic?

No, dedications mean nothing as far as authenticity goes.

And if you've only sent a letter (with no SASE) then that would explain why you've not had much back.
