Need help here!!

Unread post by Shadow-vixen »

I have about 210 addresses and written to quite a few. I only have about 19 replies so far. How long should a reply take on average? Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait before I try again? Please help. A bit stuck here.

I've moved this to Collecting Help :)

Really, it all depends on who you write to, and timing e.g. if you write to a tennis player during a tournament (right now the Australian Open.. etc.) you are likely to get a reply when they get back to their home countries. There's no telling exactly how many weeks or months it may take. The very vague average is about 2-4 months, however, there are many, many responses that took much quicker or slower than that. It all depends on timing, but don't worry, I'm sure the rest will come soon!

In my opinion I think if it takes longer than 6-7 months then you should try writing again. Bear in mind that there are some successes that took well over 1-2 years! .. but you can try writing again :)

Good luck! Hope this helps
Happy Collecting! :D

Hi,
Just as Nich said in the previous post, It depends on who you are writing to...
I would say, be pretty patient as some very musy stars that do sign often take really long to come back ;-),
But not to worry, they will come back in the end, and if its been 7months and nothing has come, I suggest writing again.
I hope this is a good help!

Some of the reasons the replies might not come quickly are:

For tennis players + golf players - look at above post
For footballers - training + matches
For actors - Filming (try vv) + promoting
For singers - Tour (try vv) + promoting
That covers alot of the types of celebs.
If you write to less busy celebs, they might answer quicker.
"Weirdism - don't you ever call someone weird. Everybody is unique, therefore to be normal is to be weird. So really the weird ones are the normal ones and the normal ones are the weird ones. That's my analogy."

Another very important point is that you need to make certain that the addy's you are using are recent, working addy's. Have they "all" had successes? How long ago was this success? And how long did those successes take? That would be a good gauge to give you an idea. Although it can still vary "a lot"---for the reasons mentioned above.
