Ads, popups, and trojans oh my!

Unread post by LauraFL »

First, let me start off by saying thank you to all the wonderful people that run this site. You all put a lot of work into this site to keep it updated.

My only problem: the ads. There have been a few occasions when after I've accessed the site, my antivirus says it has detected a trojan. I've even seen the url of the trojan trying to load in the bottom bar where it says "Done".

Is it possible to talk to the ad "supplier" and ask them to watch what they're sending out? the trojan was named "tracker31.html" or something to the effect.

I've also found it ironic that the fanmail.biz toolbar doesn't even block it's own popups...

Ah well. I don't pay for this website, so I guess I have to deal with it. Thank god for Ad Aware and Anti Virus programs.

Laura

I've also come across the "Trojan" problem a few times. I never really took note of it because my McAffee Virus Scan pops up and says a "Trojan" has been detected and cleaned. I always run both McAffe and Ad Aware everyime I get off the internet.

Actually I haven't had any Trojans in about a week.
