Re: Are Religious Topics allowed?

This is indeed a disaster. I am personally getting sick and tired of all the spammers on here. Especially the ones that post pornographic images. I don't want to see that kind of stuff. And considering the amount of underage members we have I delete it right away. But when you go in to delete it you get confronted with the images just the same. And now all those people are just unbanned? I don't get it. It's like a fight that's getting worse.

I agree with you guys on this, when sensitive topics get out of hand they must be locked or delected.

Thanks, Jason. {thumb2} I agree the "General Discussion" forum is for any topic, but we have to draw the line somewhere. I mean, this is an autograph forum but even in the "Autograph Collecting Discussions" forum members may not comment on e-mail addresses, quick replies, authentic signers, etc. {up} Rules are everywhere. And this forum is not the place for religious topics, period. You are just looking for arguements and if we allowed that topic, then we must allow religious topics for all the other religions too (muslims, catholics, etc). It won't work. :neutral:

Anyways, a bit off-topic, but has anyone else noticed that the entire banned list has been cleaned/removed/unbanned? :shock: Also the IP Ban list. This is worrying, as now all of those we banned before can come back again... And they were banned for a very good reason. :roll: It is for the safety of the members on this board that certain people remain banned (remember Tony? Perhaps 1DirXtion???), so we need to keep our eyes open for any suspicious members... :neutral:

Regards,
zanne

Even though i don't have any religion at all, i think that a topic which gets too out of hand no matter what should be locked or banned. In the general discussion forum i dont have a problem about religious topics as long as it dosent bash other people or get to crazy, people can say what they are but not their views on others. If ithe topic is critical i say delete it. If they preach about their religion the topic should definetley be deleted. Bans then need to be hard looed at for repeat offenders or for 1 bad topic even. I don't post topics on why i dont have a religion and my views etc and nor do most others, so other members can surely refrain, if not then bans should be looked at and warnings at the least.

I don't understand it either. It's actually seems to be getting worse every day.
And I'm sure most moderators are sick and tired of it. {down}

I thought it was just me with noticing all the spammers here. I keep locking the threads and editing the messages, but it's really getting out of hand.

I don't have power to ban people or delete topics, but I'm sure I'd spend hours doing it.

And back to the original message of this topic - no, I don't think religious topics should be allowed. There are plenty of other places for them on the internet, they don't belong on an autograph forum.
Favorite Autographs: Luciano Pavarotti (IP), Joan Baez, Dorothy Hammill (IP)
Newest Autos: Tim Allen, Daniel Radcliffe x3, John Lithgow

Maybe a senior mod could post a sticky in the non-auto section about what is not acceptable in the section. Selise is right, this site is for autographs and having the non-auto section is good but the main bit is for autos.
