I know this question has probably been asked a million times before but here goes anyway. I am a big fan of british tv and I want to collect some britcom stars autos. I have contacted every post office in my area and I can not get IRCs. A few people I talked to had never heard of them and one clerk even told me they don't exist anymore! So if I were to send a dollar or two ($US) would they accept that instead of an IRC. Anyone who has experience with this please give me your advice because all of the autos I want to collect are from british people but I can't even get my collection started because of the IRC problem! Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Cash instead of irc's ?????
I used to send to British actors and I used Cash. It worked just fine. {thumb2} $2.00 is good.

I am from the UK and I have sent money to US stars before, but I sent dollars. If you sent dollars to the UK then they are going to be pretty much useless. It's not like the celeb can go and get it changed for pounds since the amount is so small. I think if you're going to send money then you should atleast use the currency of the country you're sending to.

Thanks -Lil1- for the amazing set!
Favourite autographs: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Paul Daley, Rashad Evans, Chris Leben and Ariel Helwani
Most wanted: Mariah Carey, Michelle Rodriguez, Shania Twain, Michael Bisping, GSP and Dixie Chicks

I know that but sending a dollar or two would at least show that I was trying to pay for the postage and not just trying to get something for freex hayley x wrote:I am from the UK and I have sent money to US stars before, but I sent dollars. True, but my point is sending dollars is as good as sending nothing at all. Either way the celebrity is going to have to pay for the postage. Why don't you go and get a few dollars changed for pounds? It's very easy to do, and it would help the celeb out greatly

Dollars are probably best, the postage wouldn't cost as much as there's only £1 coins.
Favourite successes: Paramore, New Found Glory, Death Cab For Cutie

I do this quite a lot in reverse. I buy dollars from the travel agent and enclose one or two in my LOR. It seems to work, but it's not as easy the other way round as we don't have a pound note. You can buy stamps from royalmail.com but I have no idea if they will mail them abroad.
Have you looked for stamps on ebay?
