Matthew Risch - Pal Joey Cast Success

Unread post by afem1010 »

Hey everyone! I sent to Matthew Risch who played in the recent Broadway run of Pal Joey. I sent him a fanmail letter requesting a signed playbill by him. I would have loved the cast, but I thought getting him would be cool as he was in Legally Blonde. I had sent to Stockard Channing and to the play itself. I didn't get those two back yet, but what I got from Matthew is pretty cool. A cast signed playbill! He sent me a small note as well saying thanks for the support, along with the playbill. I am guessing that maybe my letters were put together or something and I got this, or I have no clue...honestly. Really happy I got this!

I wanted to post this earlier but the site has been down for many days so...just thought Id put asap.

I never thought Roundabout sent out Playbills... :? I guess they do. I never bothered sending because I thought I would never get anything back...now I might. {up} Congrats! :D

What I got was purely chance and it happens rarely. Usually they never send out anything...I have tried MANY venues, MANY times.

But thanks for posting!

Cheers!

Both Studio 54 and American Airlines Theatre are owned by the Roundabout Theatre Co. and they rarely send out Playbills, so either you got lucky, or this is one of the few plays that has cast-signed playbills. I will probably send directly to the theatre since they are the ones that carry the playbills. Again, cool success. {up}

Great success. Matthew is terriffic--hopefully he can only go up from here!

And that's bizarre, Roundabout (at Studio 54) NEVER has ever done cast-signeds, so either they changed their minds or ?!? Who knows, I'm sure everyone's going to be budging to send at their new production ('Waiting for Godot').

He sent me one signed just by him, but that's actualyl what I wanted :) .

And for the record, PAL JOEY closes today, March 1.

I guess if I really wanted this I would have sent for one earlier in the month :lol: I really want a Hedda Gabler Playbill. I will probably end up donating money for one, but whatever. :D

Matthew definitely is terrific! He was great in Legally Blonde and I do wish him best and that he continues to succeed from this point.

Im pretty sure this was just a one time thing. Studio 54 has been very dry in terms of sending cast signed playbills. I have never received anything from Roundabout in the past and this was, well, a shock really. So I doubt they changed their minds, I think this was like "one of those days" -Kinda like your Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Hope I got this right lol) - I had sent to that one way back when as well

And yes, Pal Joey does close today.

P.S - TheScarletPimpernel, I had sent you a PM a long time back btw.
