Formula 1 2009 season

Unread post by lizane »

Hi F1 fans! ;-)

With the brand-new F1 season starting on 27 March in Australia, I thought I should start a topic where we can share our thoughts on the new season and as the races begin. {up} I'm a huge F1 fan so I can't wait! Here's the confirmed teams for 2009:

McLaren-Mercedes:
1. Lewis Hamilton
2. Heikki Kovalainen

Scuderia Ferrari:
3. Kimi Raikkonen
4. Felipe Massa

BMW Sauber F1 Team:
5. Robert Kubica
6. Nick Heidfeld

Renault F1 Team:
7. Fernando Alonso
8. Nelson Piquet Jnr.

Toyota Racing:
9. Jarno Trulli
10. Timo Glock

Scuderia Toro Rosso:
11. Sebastien Buemi
12. Sebastien Bourdais

Red Bull Racing:
14. Mark Webber
15. Sebastian Vettel

Williams:
16. Nico Rosberg
17. Kazuki Nakajima

Brawn GP:
18. Rubens Barrichello
19. Jenson Button

Force India F1 Team:
20. Adrian Sutil
21. Giancarlo Fisichella

If there is any mistake with the above info, let me know! Source

So, who do you think will win the Drivers' Championship this year? And the Constructors'? :) My guess: Felipe Massa will finally win the Drivers' Championship and obviously Ferrari too. {thumb2} But the Brawn GP team seems really impressive from the tests and they could be the ones to watch this year (especially Button). {up} As always, BMW Sauber will do very well too as well as the Ferrari team. I'm hoping Alonso will build on his success with which he ended last year. :)

Thanks,
zanne

I'm a great F1 fan too! :D

I really hope that you're right with your predictions, Massa [br] really deserves the title after the magnificent end of the last season!!
Forza Ferrari! [rockon]

BTW, we should expect a lot of surprises from teams like Toyota, BMW and Williams: they're the teams which experimented the most the Kinetic Energy Recovery System, and moreover they are the only ones who use a mechanical KERS.

I'm also very curious to see what the races will look like with the new cars.

I'm looking forward to the Australian GP [au] !!!!!!! So excited! {clap}

Yes, I've heard about this too - but I don't know if it's being implemented this year. I am fully for this suggestion though, how can a driver come 2nd all the time and another has for example 7 wins, but the one who came 2nd (with no wins) wins the Drivers' Championship (Lewis Hamilton, anyone?). {down} Massa should've been champion in 2008 already, if you ask me. It would just be much more fair in my opinion, these points has always annoyed me anyways.

Hey All

Im a Big f1 fan myself. And i just love that the first race of the season always starts here :D. I personally believe like most others that Massa should have won last year. I dislike Hamilton and i really hope he cant retain his title.

I am a Ferrari fan but my favourite driver is Mark Webber, i was shocked when he broke his leg in Tasmania last year and i have my fingers crossed he will be 100% by Friday.

Oh and that new rule will be introduced for this season. Thats what Melbourne Officials said today

Yes, I also read on my customized Google page that the new points system will take place from this year - that's great news! :D

Hamilton is probably a good driver, but definitly not the best. Massa, Alonso, Kubica and Vettel are (in my opinion) the best drivers at the moment, but with all of the new rules, we'll just have to see how they will adapt to it all. {thumb2} I think the Brawn GP team is still the ones to watch this year! :)

What a finish to the Melbourne race!

Congrats to Jensen Button winning and Brawn GP going 1-2! the last team to be announced and they won well done to them.

And Hamilton getting 4th impressive considering he was at the back of the grid. That crash though with 3 laps to go between Vettel and Kubica was a suprise im disapointed that Vettel couldnt go on he was in line for 2nd had that not happened.

Poor Mark Webber unlucky at home AGAIN!

Yay, my prediction was right! I wouldn't mind if they "rule" this season, at least something new and interesting. :) It was quite an eventful race, I'm looking forward to the rest of this season now!

So happy for Jenson and Brawn GP!

Lewis Hamilton has been stripped of his 3rd place finish, what a shame hehe (sorry don't like him at all!!)
