Good question {thumb2} I usually send to actors and footballers to be honest, I don't even have female celebs autographs in my collection ! No, not even one The majority of my successes right now are from sportsmen ;) But a very large majority of my pending list are actors .. I mainly send to Medal of Honor Recipients - I've actually written to all the living recipients and have gotten responses from all but 8 - those are pending.
Tuskegee Airmen - same with them, all the ones that are still living, I've written to.
Code Talkers - have quite a few of them.
I'm working on Aces and other people involved with World War II.
I started writing to them because of my grandfathers. One was Killed in Action during WWII, so my father never met his dad, and my other grandfather came home. I started trying to find out what my one Grandfather was like, and to see who else knew/served with him. And then I started majoring in History, and just kept it up. Now I teach America's History of War, and I use a lot of the autographs in the class.
I also write to actors/actresses/musicians that I admire. Most aren't big name stars, but I write to them because I like them and admire their work.
Favorite Autographs: Luciano Pavarotti (IP), Joan Baez, Dorothy Hammill (IP) Newest Autos: Tim Allen, Daniel Radcliffe x3, John Lithgow Visit My Site (not all autos up yet!): http://selise.fotopic.net/ <-recently updated
for me ill send to whoever im a fan of, ive sent to all kinds, singers ,voice actors/actresses, baseball players, authors ,actresses etc. the list goes on , but as ive mentioned before i collect all kinds of types of peoples and i could never specify on a specific topic.
and for me i meet mostly baseball players and have met quite a few, i meet them at signings, events, and before games. so this is why i havent sent to that many baseball players(ive sent to three and got back from one). but yes i treasure all my autographs no matter how they were obtained as long as their authentic.
Even though music is heavily involved in my everyday life, I write mainly to actors/actresses. I really want to start getting the autographs of my favorite music artists now though. Problem is I've decided to start my music collection with David Bowie who never sends anything back (or so I've read) and Elton John who doesn't always send stuff back either. Oh well!
