Honestly? :shock: It seems thing are going even sillier there than here! :? Why would they do that, what have we done so wrong? :roll: And no, I have no desire to join them - they are not big enough and no matter what, Fanmail.biz is a very good site and no doubt the best autograph site on the net (we have the most active members, our own database, most successes posted, etc - not even ST.com can even compare to us!). {thumb2} I have visited almost all the autographs sites online (yes, including ST.com which is a very bad site, by the way) so I can say for sure that our Fanmail.biz really is the best, no matter what. {up}

I've pm'ed admin a few days ago about the site problem, and he asked me today if things are better, and I have to admit the site hasn't been down since Saturday (if I'm not mistaken) and the spam has decreased a lot (when was the last time you saw porn ads or those Chinese spams?). {up} So things are getting a lot better (to me, at least) and I've demoted 3 inactive TM's/mods. {thumb2}

Also, I promoted LeMon to help delete spam and ban spammers, so hopefully that will help too. :)

I think it doesn't because I've joined them, BUT I posted there only six times so far and I think Fanmail.biz is FAR better than them, I mean, I wasn't there like for three days and nothing happened there, in comparison with this site where there's a lot of new posts every day, a lot of active members, huge addresses' database...I love Fanmail,.biz and will never stop. And I think that things got better, as Lizanne said, the number of spams decreased, in my opinion, and the site hasn't been down for a few days already.

I want to stay here - I like the activity. There's a great database, and I love how it's constantly updated.

I've also been a member of other address sites/forums, including ST. I have some use for it, but for the most part, I use here. There are a lot of benefits to being a member here - and I want to see this place get better - I think that's what all of us want. We all have to love it here, or we wouldn't be mods. We only want what's best for the forum.
Favorite Autographs: Luciano Pavarotti (IP), Joan Baez, Dorothy Hammill (IP)

Selise and Zanne, i absolutely agree with you!!

If everyone starts leaving this site, how will anything be resolved, how will anything get better at all?? It doesn't make sense. By all working together we are making a difference and making this forum as enjoyable as possible. I think this is one of the most friendly sites out there where people have made friendships with other posters on here. I love the fact that people on here are devoted to helping each other, especially in finding addresses and when people ask for help.

I think it's very inconsiderate and childish to IP ban or block people from a site just because they are active members in another site. I don't know if this admin at that site is still bitter about being banned but it's not fair. I have absolutely no intentions of leaving this site, especially for that site which is so biased.

This site is way better, and has improved a lot!!

For the record, its pretty much the same rule here, its just unwritten, so if you criticise there, you're criticising here....

Admin banned demoted several members who ran their own site (and failed) about a year ago, remember that? Rockmadman2007 and his chums?

Its nothing to do with being "active members" here, like I said to you in a PM, its because of your GM status, no more, no less.

Andy, I believe those members were banned because they were mods and TMs here, and decided to start their own site, They were also stealing topics and information from this site. so I dont really see how admin banning them is the same as the GMs being banned for just signing up

I'm not criticizing anything, Andy. Considering i was away for most of the time that these things were going on due to family issues.

It doesn't make sense to me still and still is a silly reason.

And yes ADMIN banned them, not us.

And as far as i see it, Admin isn't banning anyone who is joining that forum so far.

jdp and Chrissy are right. The members/moderators here have nothing to do with what went down in the past especially 2007 when things were much different. Admin had all the powers of banning anyone and everyone especially if they broke any rules. There obviously were reasons for the banning(s) and it was dealt with by admin in the way he chose. And anyways, why are you and other possible past members holding a grudge on that? 'Cuz I doubt you are speaking only for yourself. You seem to be representing the entire other forum. But honestly, grow up and move on from that!
No matter what I don't think its right that this new site is withholding anyone from having the opportunity to join. If somebody breaks the rules fine, but to not allow ALL people from anywhere join is in a sense discrimination. I honestly don't care to be on there at this point, like Zanne, Chrissy and Selise have said I'm happy here and slowly but surely this board will see positive change! I just think everyone should have the opportunity to join no matter what your status may be here or elsewhere.
