Just a question here...
im fairly new to the hobby and wanted to know if sending an email to the celebs agents asking for a photo is as effective as writing one out and posting it to them?
what is the general success rate with this?
thanks

Well, there is less success rate for emails.
However, TTM costs more.
With TTM, you can get your own pics signed.
TTM wins, 75 to 25 is my opinion.
"Weirdism - don't you ever call someone weird. Everybody is unique, therefore to be normal is to be weird. So really the weird ones are the normal ones and the normal ones are the weird ones. That's my analogy."
The thing with TTM is there is more chance that the celebrity will read your letter themselves. Which is good especially if you have asked any questions you would love to get answered, or have a specific picture you would like them to sign. I only send email requests if I can't find a TTM address or I don't have a particular preference on the picture. The majority of the time I send TTM because it just feels so much more personal, you have a chance at getting your questions answered, and choosing a picture to send is half of the fun!
Thanks -Lil1- for the amazing set! Favourite autographs:Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Paul Daley, Rashad Evans, Chris Leben and Ariel Helwani Most wanted:Mariah Carey, Michelle Rodriguez, Shania Twain, Michael Bisping, GSP and Dixie Chicks
I tried that and out of all my e-mails to actors/actresses agents, probably around 20+, I only got one success. That one was very unexpected, so it was kind of worth it. All the time I put in researching agents and finding e-mail addresses and I only got one reply!
I just thought of one person who does respond for his clients and I am a fan of several of them and I was able to get a couple autographed photos from him by e-mail but I'd still recommend TTM.
I do both, but I receive much better successes TTM. I like to send my own photos and Q&A Cards, so that makes it more special to me. I do inlcude my email address on my letterhead and I've actually gotten emails from certain celebrites telling me thanks for sending a letter and that they were happy to sign my items. {thumb2}
I rarely use email to ask for autographs. I find it much easier to request an autograph via snail mail. It feels more personal to write a letter and include an sase than it does to write an email and just offer to pay for postage. I don't know why I feel this way but I do
I wouldn't reccomend sending an email. First, you are having them pay for postage. Second, it's like sending a typed letter TTM, they don't appreciate as much. Finally, most agents don't even except email requests (probably because of the two reasons above). Most agents, publicists, managers don't even reply to requests via email, they probably just delete it. I recommend TTM, it's a much higher success rate. 80+/20-
I rarely use emails. In fact I think I only used it once, for a sports star who was very new and didnt have an address yet. I found an email for her coach, who passed it on to her PR team. I'd asked if they knew where I could send an SASE to, they replied asking for my postal address and a few days later I got a personalised autograph in the post.
TTM is in my opinion, more polite as it doesnt cost the recipient anything, and has a higher success rate.
