Can scanning signed pictures into the computer damage or alter the photo or signature in any way?

Hi all
Provided you are not scanning the same picture hundreds of times, a scanner will not cause any harm to your autographed photos!
The single most dangerous thing for photographs is too much exposure to natural daylight. Limited exposure to artificial light such as that from a scanner will not cause damage.
After all, once you have scanned a picture once, you should not have to do it again providing you save a copy. Scanning is the standard way in which increadibly valuable documents (far more valuable than the average autograph
) are preserved for use in libraries / schools etc.
Hope this helps!
