Anyone else a bit embarrassed of their own handwriting?

I just got back into autograph collecting, and I've been writing a lot of LORs lately... and I'm realizing how horrendous my own handwriting is! All my a's look like o's, and when I try to correct them, they start looking like q's.. everything's slanting diagonally, some letters are set higher or wider than others..

Granted, I haven't written "regularly" for some ten years (pretty much the only time I pick up a pen is to sign for a credit card, check, bank, etc), but it's still a bit embarrassing. Isn't this supposed to be like riding a bicycle? :neutral:

Anyone else a member of the bad handwriting club?

I have to concentrate to write, it is not that I have a bad handwriting, but in university you had to write fast it didn't matter if there were any mistakes or so and I guess nobody besides me could read it. But with writing fanletters it is sometimes difficult and I have to remind myself to write slow.

My writing is very to one side, so I have to concentrate to keep my writing straight and eligible!
Though I do prefer to handwrite my autograph requests as I feel its more personal and I don't send out lots of requests so I find it easier.

I think my handwriting is not that difficult to read. Many people says it is very beautiful
so I'm happy with it ;).
I usually put a paper with lines under my letter so I can write in line.
But I know what you mean with a and o because if I read things that my bother writes I always have to guess if he wrote a or o

I was never sure of my handwriting - I take ages writing them, but loads of people can't read my handwriting. I save the best for my letters! I was so thrilled though when Dominic Cooper complimented my handwriting on the back of his signed picture in response to my letter!

My handwritting isn't the best, it's not awful I just don't like it. It often changes from time to time too, in school we have to write very quickly when the teachers dictate notes to us so it does get messy and I carry that onto everything that I write. I just type my letter then explain that they may have trouble reading my hand writting. I have hand written a few letters but I've only had one reply back from them as of yet.

My handwriting is not the best but I persevere with handwritten requests as it is good practice and helps me concentrate on improving my handwriting.

im extremly embarrased by my own hand writing this is why i type out my letters and the only writing i do is signing my letters. i dont even always write the adresses on the envelopes i send i sometimes get someone to do that for me because my hand writing really is that messy.

I write in cursive, it's very neat but if someone isn't used to it then they may struggle a little when trying to read it. In University (and when I was in school), because I write very quickly I often have friends trying to copy my notes because they can't keep up, but they often have to ask what certain words say.
I do worry that a celebrity may not be able to understand some words, but I have had some lovely responses from celebrities so I think it must be ok.
Also, I have never had any negative comments from teachers about my handwriting, and I always did great in my exams so the examiner must have understood it all. So I guess it's just my mates because they're not used to that style.
