I request the persons autograph - i would like to receive a signed photo - Do i need to specifically ask for a signed photo? Please tell me how you phrase your requests. Does it make much difference?
Thanks - James {thumb2}

Re: HELP - Am i going wrong here?
Hello
Well if you'd like an autograph you have to ask for one. I request mine like this:
'Id be very greatful if you could send me your autograph please (if possible personalised but if not I'll still be very happy!)'
or
'Id be very greatful if you could sign the photo i provided please (if possible personalised but if not I'll still be very happy!)'

Hey JamesLarden!
I have a paragraph in all my LORs (Letters of Request) in which I ask for an autograph
It usually goes something like this:
"I understand you're busy, but I was wondering if you could sign these photos for me? I would love to get your autograph...since etc. etc. This is because I usually send a photo for him/her/they to sign.
Just be polite
That's the most important thing
Good luck! {thumb2}

I just include a short paragraph at the end of my letter requesting one. I say something along the lines of: "Would it be possible for you to sign the picture I have enclosed, please? That would mean so much to me!" I word it differently for everyone though, but that's just basically what I say.

Sorry i mis understood your question. If they sign autographs, celebs usually sign them on a photoJamesLarden wrote:I do ask for one - i just wasn't sure if they would send a signed photo if i just ask for an autograph - Sorry about silly thread, it's just i don't seem to be getting any replies from anyone!

Re: HELP - Am i going wrong here?
You have to give it a chance - most celebs take at least 3 months to respond! There are a lot of people here (myself included) who have waited years for autographs.JamesLarden wrote:I do ask for one - i just wasn't sure if they would send a signed photo if i just ask for an autograph - Sorry about silly thread, it's just i don't seem to be getting any replies from anyone!
And yes, if a celeb sends an autograph, 98-99% of the time it's on a photo. (The other percent or 2 are for IP's, or for people who go to conventions, or send things other than photos such as index cards or books)
Re: HELP - Am i going wrong here?
What I've done so far Is write the celebrity a nice letter first. The towards the end, I add in a P.S. and politely ask for an autograph and say "If possible, would you be able to sign the enlosed photo? Thank you so, so much if you can!" I usually include the P.S. and autograph request on a seperate page rather than on the actual letter. And number the pages so they know there are 2 pages of the letter.
