Why not just set the forum to auto-lock old topics (say after a month or so?) in the Feedback section?
It just seems like that would be easier than having moderators manually lock an old topic after it has been revived.

Now, I'm not a computer expert, but I think that would take some extra software. Would it be a nice feature? Yes of course, but it more that likely would cost the admin a pretty penny

Admin couldn't care less about the website. So this ain't gonna happen. It would be nice though.

It shouldn't take extra "software". I haven't used phpBB in a long, long time, but auto-locking old topics is a feature included in many forum scripts, so I'd assume phpBB would have it too. Even if it doesn't, somebody has probably created a mod/hack/plugin for it.

Then the moderators don't have much to do. A majority of the stuff I do is lock old topics, I'm not sure if it's because I'm not assigned to a forum, so I can't delete them, or just because that's the majority of problems. But, that would make a moderator's job way too easy.

The forum should be set up so that moderators would have less to do anyways.
This of course brings me back to one of my earlier threads - this forum doesn't need a hundred moderators.
