Hello everybody!
I've got a few questions about sending someone a letter.
I am not very good in English, because I'm only 14, and I'm from the Netherlands, so I hope you understand me.

What do you have to send? A letter.. in an envelope, with stamps. ( How many? )
And what's a SASE? A self adressed stamped envelope? So you also have to send an envelope, adressed to yourself..
With stamps on it.. But which stamps? Because if I want to send someone a letter in the USA,
[ I'm from the Netherlands ] can I use normal stamps? :O

So,
I have to send
- My letter in an envelope with stamps
- A SASE with stamps
- And a postcard or something,they can personalize?
How do I have to send that? I put the SASE by the letter?

Well, it depends on the weight and size of the envelope, just check your post service's website or bring the envelope to the post office and they will weight it and tell you how much it will cost {thumb2} .

So you also have to send an envelope, adressed to yourself..

No, you can't, for a SASE you have to use stamps of the country you're sending FROM. Which means, as for the USA, you have to put there US stamps. Minimum postage from the US to Europe is now $0,98, I believe. If you don't have any opportunity of getting US stamps or any other foreign stamps, you can buy at your post office an International Reply Coupon (= IRC), that you enclose to your letter. The person abroad will exchange it for the stamps for sending back to you.

So,

Basically yes. Usually you don't have to send anything to be signed because a lot of celebrities have their own photos to send to fans. But sometimes they don't (check the Feedback to get to known which celebrities don't send their own photos) or you want have something particular signed, so you can send something, usually a photo, index card, magazine page, dvd cover etc.

Yes, just put your letter and SASE into to envelope you send everything in to the celebrity.

You have to send a letter in an envelope with a stamped self addressed envelope. How many stamps depends on the size and weight of your envelope and where your sending from and to

Thats right. It depends where your sending back from as all countries have different stamps

No, you need to get US stamps. You can buy them online or trade with a member on here

So,

- My letter in an envelope with stamps No need to send extra stamps if your sending a SSAE
- A SASE with stamps
- And a postcard or something,they can personalize? Celebs sometimes provide a picture but if you want a specific photo to be signed you need to send one to them
How do I have to send that? I put the SASE by the letter? Yes, put the SSAE into your envelope. Take the envelope to the post office if your sending overseas and they will put the right amount of stamps you need on and they will post it for you

Firstly, you have the most amazing English. Really, really outstanding.

Yes, when sending you need to include a letter requesting an autograph and if possible an SASE. If, as you have stated you will be sending abroad to the USA you would need to send an SASE with American stamps on it. If you can't get hold of these anywhere you can buy International Reply Coupons (IRCs) at most larger post offices. Alternately, you can include a couple of dollar noted in with your request to cover return postage. For your envelope to the USA you can get postage prices by having it weighed at your post office and they will sell you the correct stamps there.

What you need to do is write the celebrity you want an autographed photo a nice fan letter. There are topics on the forum to help you if you need help with that. Basically you introduce yourself, tell them why you like them, comment on some of their projects and then ask for an autographed photo.

The SASE is a envelope addressed to you for them to send a autographed photo to you in. The stamps on that envelope needs to be the stamps of the country the celebrity is in (if the celebrity is a US person, you need US stamps). You can check the selling/wanted forum if you would like to trade for some.

So what you have is:
Letter to the celebrity
SASE for the celebrity to put a photo in
Photo or card--IF YOU WANT TOO. Some celebrities only respond if you send a photo or card but most can supply one for you.
Put that IN an envelope addressed to the celebrity and put YOUR countries stamps on it.

Basically, you send a nice letter to the celebrity, telling them what you like about them and ask for an autographed picture. And, an SASE is is a stamped addressed envelope(If its USA celebrities, you need usa stamps). If your sending abroad, use an International reply coupon(or an IRC). An IRC is used by the receiver to purchase stamps. {thumb2}. OR put some stamps in the envelope from your country.

Basically if your sending to the USA or abroad, you will have in your envleope:
A fan letter
An International reply coupon (OR some stamps from your country)
A stamped addressed envelope.

If you sending local(Netherlands):
A fan letter
A stamped-addressed envelope

Now I finally know what to send.
A week ago I send a letter to Johnny Depp..
Without a SASE, so I don't except I'll get something back..
But anyway, I'll try it again after a few weeks..
Now I'm going to send a letter to a Dutch artist,
[ With a SASE, haha ]
