Sport Collectors, I need your help! ( :

Unread post by Star9685 »

Okay, so I'm completely new to collecting baseball autographs..
BUT, my sister's birthday is in September, and I'd love to give her some Chicago Cub autographs.
You see, I'm a baseball fan, but not a crazy one like my mom and sister. :roll:
Anyway, I've read through some successes from Cub players, and I found out about fan packs and such..But, if you could share any advice and tricks you have, that's be so helpful.
I'd like to get a fan pack, and I know you can get those through e-mail, but is it sometimes easier to get them to include autographs or something if you write TTM?
And if I'm trying to get a certain player, do I need to write to them specifically? Or can I just say for example, "My sister's all time favorite player is Carlos Zambrano. I'd love to surprise her with his autograph. If possible, I'd love if he could sign the card I've enclosed,". Or do I even need to include a baseball card or something.
I'm rambling, sorry. I'll stop now. I'd just be very appreciative of any advice you could give me. :D
Thanks!!
- Willow :mrgreen:

I only collect baseball autographs and I am a huge Cubs fan myself! I think your best bet would be requesting TTM. I haven't tried getting Zambrano's autograph but it wouldn't hurt trying. If it is for your sister's birthday say that in the letter you send to the player requesting their autograph that may help you get a signature. The Cubs are usually pretty good at signing and returning Derrek Lee, Reed Johnson, and Ted Lilly I have heard are the best but you never know when trying to get TTM. Also, if you are going to a Cubs game a few players usually stick around to sign after the game. Good luck! {up}

Thanks for the input.
I'll defiantly try the 3 you mentioned.
I know Reed Johnson is one of her faves as well. {thumb2}

Big Z is out for a little while, so this would be the perfect time to request his autograph. He has a more free-time now that he is hurt. {down}
