Rue McClanahan Help!!!!

I need any help possible. Rue McClanahan(Blanche on The Golden Girls) is hosting a dinner this coming Monday the 18th here in Chicago. Being a HUGE Golden Girls fan, I would love to meet her & get her to sign my 1988 TV Guide with the Golden Girls cover.

I don't know if she is staying at the hotel where she is hosting the dinner or if she is coming right before. How would I go about getting her signature?
This is all the info I have for the event...

Location: Empire Room at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel
Time: 5:30pm
General Admission: $300
Website: chicagoplays.com

I cant really afford the $300 ticket but would wait a long time outside the hotel for her. Any suggestions?

I'd say call the hotel and ask if Rue will be leaving through the main lobby or via another exit. Explain to them as well that you only want to have her autograph your TV guide. You might even find a hotel employee who's willing to take it to Rue herself to get it signed. Some companies won't allow this, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Rue may even be having an "Autograph Party" afterwards.

You could ring up the hotel and ask, explain to them that you just want your TV guide to be signed.

So I called the Palmer House Hilton hotel,where the dinner event is being held & the person who I talked to had no answers for me. Didnt help at all. Now I'm back to where I started.

Has anybody waited to get an signature outside a hotel that an event is taking place(such as dinner,auction,speaking engagement)?
Im real determined to get my Golden Girls TV Guide signed by Ms.McClanahan.
How should I go about getting her to sign it in person this Monday when the event she is hosting takes place?

Well Then I guess your next best bet will be to just wait outside the door. I'm sure other fans who can't get tickets will do the same thing so if you see a crowd chances are there all waiting for Rue. {thumb2} Best of luck to you! Let us know how it goes.

I'm pretty sure Rue signs TTM, so if for some reason you can't get her In-person you can always mail it to her.

Rue is a very good TTM signer but getting her in person would be much better. You can probably sit in the hotel lobby rather than waiting outside. That way if she is staying at the hotel she might walk past you. You won't see her if you are outside.

Ok so I went down to the hotel about 3 hours before the event she was hosting began. I waited outside by where the cabs & valet pick up/drop off. I stayed by where a town car was parked with the driver standing outside it. About a little over an hour into my wait for Rue, she walks out of the hotel with a few assistants it seemed. She was walking right to where her driver was & I asked her if she could sign my tv guide for me. Before she signed it she said to me" Wow,this is an old one."(1988 TV Guide) She couldnt have been a more sweeter & nice of a person than she was.

I was the only one waiting for her outside the hotel. The TV Guide is a huge addition to my Golden Girls memorabilia collection.

I would post pictures of the TV Guide,but I use my G1 phone for all my internet & dont know much about showing pictures on fanmail.biz.

I do not. Being the stoner I am I forgot a disposable camera. And the camera on my phone, I dont really like because it takes a few seconds to take a picture. Wishing I would have brought one. But oh well, meeting one of The Golden Girls totally made my month.
