RYAN J. wrote:Very nice! I'm currently waiting to hear back form them on my playbill request. {thumb2} Glad those tips will work for you. And I'm sure everyone here wishes that the post office would have a contest, but with the way they are finicially already it's not likely to happen. I'm not sure how old you are, but if your grandparent's or parents ask you what you want for your birthday just tell them "STAMPS!" my grandma asked me and that's what I told her. That way I can write to all my favorite stars and get successes back all year long & it feels like one long birthday!

Honey, I'm 20! HAHA

For Christmas, my mother said she had no clue what to get me and asked me what I wanted. All I asked for was a book of stamps and a package of manila envelopes lol.

I love the feeling of one long birthday! It's like every day when the mail runs you get a "gift!" lol :) Glad to see I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Ryan, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in case you have yet to hear:

33 Variations closed (bizarrely) on Thursday night, May 21. Why on a Thursday night? I have no idea...(generally shows close at the end of their week - Sunday, or Saturday evening if no Sunday performances). It was already a limited engagement, but hasn't been selling too well as of late, so it didn't get extended.

Perhaps you should have just written your request to Ms. Fonda herself, as I'm assuming it's her autograph you were after. She seemed very reliable.
I sent a request to Ms. Fonda and also one for a playbill. I guess I'm in the same boat as Ryan.

I wouldn't necessarily give up hope just yet. I got my Hairspray playbill AFTER the show had closed, about a week or two actually. I was very surprised. I was so happy, but a little sad that I couldn't send a thank you note to the stage manager. I don't know if you or I will luck up this time though. Maybe. :) We can still have hope.

(I'm trying to stay positive because I hate wasting postage. lol)

I love this hobby and this definitely made me stop my complaining about postage.

(Thanks for the 6x9 tip guys. I'll have to try that for my playbills. I wish there was some kind of contest at the post office to win free stamps for life haha)

That's awesome!!!!!

Well I've still got my fingers crossed that maybe they'll have some left over playbills that are signed and I can still get one. I actually wrote mainly form Colin Hanks autograph as I liked his role in newest KING KONG film. ;-) I'll be sure and let everyone know what happens. :D

Hey Guys -

I've been collecting cast signed playbills since last summer, and it's really awesome!
My collection consists of:

Wicked
Grease
Boeing-Boeing
Spamalot
All My Sons
The Little Mermaid
Spped-The-Plow
The Phantom of the Opera
Mary Poppins
Mamma Mia!
Blithe Spirit
Impressionism
West Side Story
The Lion King
God of Carnage

I have also gotten pictures signed by Mackenzie Crook when he was in "The Seagull" and Daniel Radcliffe/Richard Griffiths when they were in "Equus". Didn't request a playbill though.

I am waiting on 33 Variations, Exit the King, and Rock of Ages. Not holding my breath on 33 Variations though. :neutral: Hopefully Exit the King will come back before it closes though. {thumb2}

Anyway, I am planning on sending out to these plays in the near future:

Accent on Youth
Hair
Guys and Dolls
Billy Elliott
Next to Normal
The Norman Conquests

I have seen successes from the first three, but I was wondering if anyone has seen successes from Billy Elliott, Next to Normal, or The Norman Conquests recently. (I got excited about playbills again after watching the Tonys last night)

Thanks guys.

I received Billy Elliott quickly a while ago...but I know some other successes have come in recently too. Don't know about 'next to normal' or The Norman Conquests though. I'm going to write to n2n soon as well!

Thanks for the heads up! Just got my letter out today... it probably won't make it, but I guess we'll see. :)

I hate it when they announce closings just a couple days in advance.
