Do you ever get frustrated about certain celebs...

Unread post by zipbags »

I know its hit and miss with who signs autographs. Do you ever get frustrated about lesser known celebs who you just can't get a response from? I do a lot of cast mattes and it never fails that their is always one celeb from the cast that is near impossible to get an autograph from. I am not even talking about big name A-listers (ie-Pitt, Cruise, Hanks, etc). Lots of times I have never even seen some of these celebs autos available from dealers. And the fact that I collect 3x5 signed cards makes it even harder. These are the celebs I am just so frustrated about not being able to get...

-Clare Carey (Jericho)
-Karina Lombard (4400)
-Molly Parker (Deadwood)
-Pruitt Taylor Vince (Deadwood, Constantine)
-Reed Diamond (Journeyman)
-Valarie Rae Miller (Reaper)

Although, all is not lost. I have been recently sending out custom cards. And one of the first ones back was from Michael Ironside. Who was on my above list. Maybe, some celebs don't like signing blank cards.

ps-Oh and if anyone has any of the above celebs....Let me know. :)

Yeah, I have noticed that some celebs who play minor roles dont seem to reply. A little while again I wrote to Shaun Dingwall who plays Rose's dad in Doctor Who but I never received a reply.
I think it makes it more of a challenge though! :D If all celebs autographs were easy to get there wouldn't be such a great sense of acheivement as there is when you get a harder celebs signature.

Not necessarily frustrated, but I do wonder if:

A) They have received my letters.
B) If my letter has offended them in any way.

For instance, Jessie Buckley from I'd Do Anything currently starring in A Little Night Music at the Garrick theatre in London - I wrote to her originally in June 2008 when she was filming I'd Do Anything at the BBC studios. Didn't hear back so I wrote again VV (C/O The Menier Chocolate Factory) in January this year. I didn't receive a response from that one either and Jessie has now moved to a new venue. I included an SASE each time, along with two pages of A4 handwritten and a hand made card, so I am dissapointed, especially as she is one of my most wanted autographs. :(

That's really too bad. :(

Yeah, I have also written to people who've had much smaller roles. My concern recently has been that I'm not writing enough in my letter. I think this may be my downfall. That, or I've written the "wrong" thing or not included stamps as opposed to IRCs. :?

Off-topic: I've just seen Christian Slater in an ad for PC World. Wasn't expecting that.

cheers,
sf.

I think that Jessie does read the letters as well, it's not that they aren't getting there. Someone I spoke to also wrote and didn't hear back but mentioned their letter when they met Jessie and she remembered them...

Oh I am completely the same! When I have received nothing for days on end I am probably foul company for the following five minutes after the postman comes with nothing good for me!

I have at least 75 requests out there. And I think I should be getting replies daily. What's worse is when you get a quick response from a batch you sent out the same time. So you expect all of them to come back quick. And then they don't.

I get frustrated too. I've got about 150+ out there somewhere.. just waiting for them to come back. It would be really nice if I got them back soon, but I may never see some of them again. It's ok though, for me, it's the thrill when I do get one back.
