Q: If i sent a regular letter, would i get an autograph?

If i sent a regular letter to a celebrity, would i get an autograph? I don't mind if it's an Autopen, Preprint, or anything of the sort. I just want a picture with an autograph on it. You see, i'm about to send out my first letter ever to a celebrity (Bill Clinton) and i was hoping someone would be able to help me.

In most cases, you would have to request an autograph in you letter (LOR). Also, you would need to include at least a SAE, if not a SASE, or SAE + IRC/s. Some fans include their own photo's to increase their chances of reply. For Bill Clinton, you shouldn't have a problem sending a "plain" LOR. He has his own photo's to send out and uses his own stamped envelopes! Good luck!

For most celebrities, your best bet would be to send out a SASE to even get back a preprint. There are some celebrities out there who will send on just a LOR, Bill Clinton for example, but just to be safe for other celebrities I would send out a SASE.

I've gotten responses with just an LOR. But I would at least provide an SASE, so all the Celeb has to provide is the photo.

I always send a SASE. Some stars don't have the money to send you a photo and pay for your postage. Older stars didn't make what the newer ones do today.

It all depends on the person you are writing. Some people only respond if you send a SASE to cover postage: for others you have to supply a photo too. You might use the search function and see if you can find out what the person you want to write is know to do.

I Have Gotten Replies With Just An LOR On Many Occasions,

But Some Celebrities Won't Give You Anything Back Without An SASE,
So I'd Include One In Future, Just To Be On The Safe Side,

Then All The Celebrity Needs To Provide Is The Photo.

like the others had said it does depend on the person you are writing to. look at the celebrity feedback to see what others had send. most celebrity's do not respond without a SASE, so i would always send one . Hoped i Helped. Ryco
