Geoffrey Rush Success! Could use some help though!

Unread post by Elusive Miss »

After a very dry few weeks, the mailman had to trek up the driveway today to deliver my Pirates of the Caribbean full sized poster that Mr. Rush was kind enough to sign and inscribe!

Now, here's the photo I got back in September of 2007:

My name looks completely different, as does the "best wishes" as the one on the poster is more script, while the photo is closer to printing. Any thoughts? The photo came from his address in Australia. I'm really hoping that they are both real and that he was just able to take a little more time on the photo than the poster, but any thoughts would be appreciated!

I think the thickness of the pen is totally controlling the look of the personalisation and best wishes . With the thicker pen , it pretty much resulted in capital letters and unjoined-up writing . With the thinner pen , he could go back to his normal writing .

I don't think there is anyone on here ( could be wrong , but doubt it ) who doesn't think that Geoffrey is one of the nicest and best signers nowadays . {thumb2} :D

Congrats, firstly!

I wouldn't be surprised if when Mr Rush goes through his fan mail, his PA / someone is there to help him out. Since he seems to sign 4875847587 things, perhaps he had someone else write your name on the picture (upside down), considering that the poster looks more like what I'd expect his handwritting (based off his signature alone) to look like.

The autos are both authentic, but not positive about the personalizations.

They are both authentic. Just like everyone else, he probably sometimes writes in all caps, and sometimes not. Congrats!

Hi Elusive Miss! ;-)

Congrats on your great success from Geoffrey! :mrgreen: As other said, both autographs (personalizations included, in my opinion) are authentic. {up} It's very possible that someone writes in all caps one day, and another normally. :) If you look closely to individual letters, you'll notice that they're very similar, such as the "b" in "best wishes", as well as the "t" (somewhat) and "h".

The "HELLO MISSY" part on you via agency success could be done by his secretary (that would mean he just wrote "best wishes {his signature}"), however I doubt it... :? If you compare to RYAN J's success from Geoffrey (where he filled out Ryan's questionnaire), you'll notice similarities in the way he makes his capital "M", "S", "E" and "Y" (in a way), although they're not 100% (but he probably wrote quick in the questionnaire). {thumb2}

Hope this helps, and enjoy your success! :mrgreen:
