When I got my playbill back from Wicked it had no return address. Do they only write it on there if you don't send a SASE? I left the top corner blank on my SASE and that's how it came back to me. (I do it that way so it's a bit of a surprise when I get them if they don't write who it's from.)TheScarletPimpernel wrote:Sometimes (and plenty of times) the Box Office address (which is posted on Playbill.com) is different from the stage door address, which is where fanmail is often sent to.Chewie wrote:I also received an RTS from the Norman Conquests address yesterday. On another note, it is extremely possible in your one instant that your letter may be forwarded to Ms. Kendra (I saw her on Broadway two years ago - very talented/my favourite part of that cast!). Wicked reportedly has an entire office (pretty much across the street from the Gershwin) where all the fanmail is sent and sorted. I've heard that's where you can write the national tours as well, but I do not know the address. I would assume since she's still involved within the Wicked community they *may* forward it to her, but you can never be too sure. And as another note: WICKED is the ONLY show to have this "fanmail office" (check your return addresses from the stage managers...you'll see it's sometimes different from the Gershwin), NO OTHER show has one and is strictly upon the stage management/backstage managers teams.

Re: Playbill Collectors
Yes, I didn't send a SASE and the return envelope has the address. I honeslty have NO IDEA how the whole tour-cast-signed playbills deal works, but I have heard it exists for Wicked. Also: just send to the Gershwin. All the mail comes in a big bag and they sort it across the street. There is 0% chance of it getting lost or any problems...Playbiller wrote: When I got my playbill back from Wicked it had no return address. Do they only write it on there if you don't send a SASE? Here's another question -
I mailed out for a Shrek the Musical Playbill in January, and haven't heard back yet. It's my only playbill request that's been out for longer than a month - everything else has come back to me in at most 3 months. Does anyone else have a fairly old request still pending for Shrek, or should I resend it?
Thanks!

The longest I have waited for a cast-signed playbill is 6 months - Spamalot last year.
Usually, the stage manager takes a stack of playbills and has the cast sign them all at once (which is why you usually see the autos in the exact place), and then when the requests come in they take one out of the stack/etc. When the stack is done, it usually takes a while for the process to be repeated, which is why some people get requests done in a week and others months.
Wait until the last week in July to send another request. I believe the original cast is contracted through the last day of August / Labour day-ish, so if it doesn't come back by then you can write once more.
I hope everyone knows that almost every stage manager reads the letters they receive! When you sound phony, trust me, they know you're a phony and they won't fill out your request. With websites such as this and eBay.com where people are constantly writing their requests, receiving and selling on eBay, a lot of stage managers have opted to NOT do this system at all. Check out all the Legally Blonde: The Musical playbills you can get that are signed on eBay. If it looks like yours, you know it's not "handsigned" like many of hte people suggest. LB suspended this service for a while last year, until Bailey Hanks (probably at her / MTV's requests) joined the cast, as she was SWAMPED with fanmail. So beware - lots of the stagemanagers know the auto collectors from the fans - if you wrote something like "I love the CD you guys have and I've heard all the songs from the show. I hope I get to see it!" You just look like an idiot because the cast recording wasn't released until March. Or you're a bootlegger/cheat/you may receive a nice note from Actor's Equity....!
Not saying the above pertains to you (hopefully not), but you can see why many don't do it - why give away for free when they can raise charity funds (which they do 2 months of every year...)

Re: Playbill Collectors
My request for Shrek has been out since December. Since I don't expect to get anything back from that request, I just wrote to my favourite performers in the show individually (John Tartaglia & Christopher Sieber) and heard back from both within about 2 weeks.Chewie wrote:Here's another question -

If I were you, I'd just write to them again, as people have been getting stuff back from them pretty quickly.

I sent my Shrek request back in 2008 on December 27th. I got that one back in January. My playbill came within the first or second week of the month
I think you guys should probably try again for Shrek.

Has anyone had any success with the casts of Hair and Rock Of Ages?

I've seen a few successes for both. I have them pending in the mail right now as well.Playbiller wrote:Has anyone had any success with the casts of Hair and Rock Of Ages?
